"Stims Ruined My Life" - Apocalypse Spam

”Seriously though, even if you’ve orchestrated a personal end of the world, it doesn’t mean life ends elsewhere.”

Sorry, friend. It does.

Two things here, in order of importance: Brain Damage (self-inflicted), and Apocalypse.

I’ve wanted to do a proper Stim deck for such a long time now (it’s been too long from last time), and I was really inspired by a few decks we built casually last weekend during a dedicated Netrunner fest. This idea, and obsession, doubled with the introduction of Hervanta Shop, fueled the creation of Apo_Dealer.

The main prospect is pretty simple:

Gain money, install Eater, and use extra clicks on Stimdealer and Amped Up to whatever to fire Apocalypse as often as you can. You’ll survive the brain damage. If you’d die to it, you’d lose anyway. Just don’t worry about it.

If you’re opposing kill, mind the cards and stim withdrawal effects as long as you can. Then pop Amped-Up, and go to town with Wanton Destruction. That’ll clear their kill combo. Proceed with dragging the corp down with you on your stim-ridden ride.

You’ll be surprised by how exhilarating Stim Dealer can be.

::Flex slots::

::Career Fair:: To be fair, we’ll see if this is worth it. The influence could be used for an Account Siphon, if you drop a third Apocalypse, or a Femme, or whatever your heart desires. In that case though you might want to re-evaluate your economy build.

::Hacktivist Meeting:: It’s pretty dull to be hit with Corp currents, and this might wreck their HQ in preparation to a Wanton Destruction. This could be Rumour Mill to clear Jackson, but they’ll most likely pop their Jacksons pre-emptively anyways these days.

::Stimhack:: Well, it’s more stims. It’s kind of set by theme. You might find replacing one with Immolation Script, a third Amped Up, or just cutting it altogether might work for you.

This deck could well work (even better) with any other runner, like Quetzal or Edward Kim, but MaxX is a thematic starting point I’ll definitely try this deck out with.

Have fun wrecking the universe! If your life sucks – so should suck everyone else’s.

It's an awesome startpoint for a great deck! I remoddeled it to go with valencia, added a couple of blackmails and replaced the mediums for keyhole. It Rocks! Thanks for the inspiration.

IMO the deck will start to really shine once the killer version of Paperclip/Black Orchestra-type breakers is released.

Personally, I replaced one Apocalypse with Rebirth (into Omar Keung: Conspiracy Theorist for easy Apoc/Medium dig) and a Temüjin Contract, and the Day Jobs with Liberated Accounts. With Déjà Vus/Same Old Things you can recur Apocalypse pretty easily, and Liberated goes well with Career Fair. Temujin would be a flex slot, but the money is insane, especially after you Apocalypse, and with Déjà Vu to bring it back it can fund your Apocalypse runs.

In the meantime, I agree that Keyhole suits the deck better than Medium with Eater as the main breaker.

Nice points, people, and kinda cool to see this spark some discussion even days after initial posting! :)

I got to play a game or two with it, but sadly against the founder of Hervanta Shop (see link in description), so he knew what he was doing - and I didn't! :D

I agree that Keyhole might work better here. Good catch. Daily Casts feels really clunky - I'd rather add Liberated instead of them than Day Job. I really don't enjoy Career Fair in MaxX to be fair. Either the targets, or Fairs themselves see dropped in your morning drugs too often. Not a fan.

The main thing here is really to just swim in money before hitting Apocalypse. You'll find you'll need the credits.

Rebirth is fair, but remember to keep the theme going as you play! :) Roleplaying your part as a punk-ass addict is half the fun!
