It's a matter of Research

Essentially, the idea here is to give the runner some tags, keep them on their toes with Freelancer, Closed Accounts and all that good stuff, maybe even spring a bit fat Information Overload on them. Then, score out Market Research as a 3 pointer and then maybe another if necessary, win the game.

Lack of serious long term economy is a little scary, but I think manageable by just winning soon enough. Sweeps Week acts like a Hedge Fund if they have 5 in hand, which is likely if they are in fear.

Enhanced Login Protocol is just used as control while you're trying to open a scoring window, and Manhunt for when you want to trigger a Closed Accounts or Freelancer. The one of Midseason Replacements is to get them scared of a Psychographics, and maybe just keep the tags, turning any server you put a Information Overload either impenetrable without sacking everything - or horrible expensive.

Any suggestions of course welcome, I kinda just threw this together with no play testing. So a bit of help wouldn't go amiss! :P

I love to see Market Research played! A 4/3 is incredibly powerful. I am surprised to only see 1 Data Raven. Is your light econ the reason for that? Are you able to keep TMI rezzed? If so, it is killer. Is the Viper influence worth it?

Sorry for all the questions. I have been wanting to build an MN tag deck. I will look to this for pointers. I like to see Freelancer played, even only 1. Nearly ever ID and faction uses at least a few resources now; I can't imagine Freelancer ever being dead (unless they're untagged).

Oh please, questions are fun :D

  • I find Data Raven expensive for something that doesn't actually do anything if the runner just doesn't care. Sure it plays into my hands, but 4 creds is a lot for this deck. So yeah, it's just a piece of light annoyance as far as I see it.
  • TMI is dodgy at best, but insane if you pull it off. If you get someone who tumbles down the Rabbit Hole, or goes with a million Dyson Mem Chips, or just The Toolbox, then you're going to have a bad time. But remember, you only need to win the trace once, so you want to do so early game before all that extra link piles out.
  • Viper is an absolutely insane early game ICE - especially for MN. It's also out of Yog.0 range (sans Datasucker, which is nice. Mainly it's just the fact it has a reasonably high base trace - and you can boost for free.

The thing I'm tempted to do next is maybe cut Midseason Replacements or something and just put in a third Adonis Campaign just for a bit more bursty drip economy.
