Reaper's Last Ride (Undefeated @ startup CO, 90% wr Jnet)

Bilby 22

This is a very sketchy NEH kill deck that has 2 kill plans to squeeze the runner with. Even though I thought it wasn't any good, it kept winning games, so I decided to bring it to our startup format CO. At the event, it went 4-0, beating 3 Tao decks, and 1 Esa. The Esa game was totally stolen, with the first of 2 EotLs missing both of the Steelskin Scarring in a hand of 7 cards. I would have conceded if I didn't win right there.

This deck feels like a sendoff for a lot of my favorite Borealis cards, with RwR releasing and rotating the cycle just the day after our CO. Farewell, Reaper Function, Gaslight, Mutually Assured Destruction, and End of the Line.

Use the incredible card seeking power of Daily Business Show, Federal Fundraising, and Gaslight to assemble your key cards, and then execute one of the kill plans. This deck cannot and will not score agendas. It's kill or be killed. DBS is by far the most important asset, letting you filter HQ and prevent flood while also finding you key cards. Send a Message is a huge liability, and DBS is able to neutralize it. I would protect DBS with ice before centrals.

Plan A: Mutually Assured Destruction for 6 or more tags, then play 2 End of the Line. It's hard for the runner to keep up with NEH spam while still drawing cards, making money, and shaking incidental tags. Eventually, you have enough cards to MAD for 6. Lots of your cards cost 0 to rez, making the big MAD economically feasible.

Plan B: Rez Reaper Function, play Public Trail, play End of the Line for 6 damage. This is your threat if the runner spends too much money trashing cards, making runs, or shaking tags.

The runner needs to thread the needle between these two plans to survive. I found myself making a lot of strange plays to get wins with this deck, including installing naked Send a Message vs opponents who aren't checking facedowns, or using Gaslight just for a hedge fun to get to a crucial credit total for the combo.

A lot of this deck's success is owed to Mutually Assured Destruction being a suprise, and I think in open decklist environments it would be significantly harder to win with. But, with Borealis rotating tomorrow, it will remain undefeated :)

Shout outs to Vee for hosting another lovely event, Red Castle Games for having us, all my opponents for playing sweet games, and Whiteblade for designing a sick champ card.
