Stimshop Kate v4 (39/238, Worlds 2014, went 5-2)

My Runner deck from Worlds. It is derived from Selverin's highly successful Chaos Theory deck, which I have been extensively testing for ~2 months prior to Worlds. I liked his deck because it has tons of early multi-access but also gives you longevity against RP thanks to Opus being great long-term.

Opus is terrible short-term, though, so I didn't like the lack of any burst econ. And, I hated drawing cards like a chump until I hit Diesel. I thus decided to use Sure Gamble and Astrolabe. And then I wanted a Plascrete. Okay, and now that I'm installing a bunch of stuff it'd sure be nice if I could save a buck....

So I switched to Kate. He cut Scavenge in favor of Astrolabe and kept Chaos Theory. I added more cards. It worked out quite well. I had to put in an Akamatsu to make sure I draw the extra MU needed for Opus+3 breakers. The multi-access events give me early aggression if they use Pop-Ups or something on HQ or R&D. The Opus lets me force glacier decks to hold agendas until they build up a scoring remote.

I went 4-0 against big ice decks (3 RP and 1 Blue Sun kill deck). I went 1-1 against NEH, the loss being to NEH Scorch. I also lost to PE in about 5 turns. This deck has no good solution to PE, so my solution for Worlds was to win the other games instead.

Some changes I might make are -1 Akamatsu +1 Maker's Eye. But I tried either way and it hurts if you happen to not see Astrolabe for awhile. I could also go -1 Test Run and +1 Same Old Thing. I've seriously debated -2 Corroder, +2 Snowball and then finding two Lucky FInds. Even without PPVP it's a good compression (3 opus clicks for 2 clicks).
