This Esâ can fit so much core damage 2-1 (2nd) Dublin CO

cone 3

Around four months ago I jammed Esâ on jnet for about 80 hours and at that point xi became the one runner I was good at. I had at that point hoped to learn other play patterns at some point but I decided it would be cooler to have health issues instead, a much more productive use of my time. Then my health got better but persona 3 was out. And then Dublin CO was about to happen and I only knew Esâ. The big pro of this was that I didn't have to make a decision here. Which was class. But the downside was that I didn't actually know if Esâ was any good right now. I was running on hope and the idea that my piloting was good.

Esâ seems to be pretty good as things turn out. The list is largely normal, Hippocampic Mechanocytes was a nice tech that I saw in this list. It wasn't always needed but I found it helpful because it allowed me to damage my core even harder. Which is always good. Gotta fuck that core up beyond recognition if you wanna win.

Game 1 I faced Ob and opened moshing and two steelskin which was cool. I just drew about 15 cards in two turns, set up faster than Ob could and was able to steal agendas early, then a finality rip secured me the game. I had a good matchup and opening hand and then just had to make the right plays to secure a win from a strong position.

Game 2 I lost to outfit. This is a matchup with Esâ that I am bad at, it feels generally not too great anyway and even then I don't think I played too well. I never had money, and once I started getting a board out I got hit by Trojan Horse and ultimately reached a board state where I couldn't get in. Just need to figure out the matchup or get lucky and never face Outfit again. Either works really.

Game 3 was against PD and this was just a race to see who could rush faster. I went down 5-0 early, which was not ideal but then drew Bankhar and Begemot off of the same steelskin which completely turned the tide of the game once I actually had the capacity to get into a server. After this I just had to play agressively, trash the corp's remote upgrades as much as possible and damage my core until game was in archives and eventually I secured a comeback win.

It was great to be back playing netrunner after a while and was a fun day to return. Maybe soon I will finally learn a second runner. We can dream.
