Clicking to 10 (20th at Americas continentals)

"This is what you've been playing all day!?!?!?" -Wenjong during our 9th round game

Going into Montreal Continentals I was facing a dilemma of what to play for corp. I could play ole' reliable asset Ob but I kept losing to players who knew the deck and I wasn't convinced it had legs into the players I'd likely face.

I'm the month leading up to continentals Alpi had been brewing, and played at EMEA, an interesting MirrorMorph that got a lot of combo lines now that Petty Cash has been released. For those who are unaware, playing petty cash from archives is it's own seperate action as far as MirrorMorph is concerned and not the same as playing an operation which opens up a lot of combos since it essentially launders your restricted MirrorMorph click into an unrestricted one.

So morning of the event I have both Ob and MirrorMorph ready to go and I decide to roll with MirrorMorph in the hopes of having a good time. It went 3-1 on the day with the only loss being to wenjong when I had the win "in hand" the following turn.

How does the deck play in general?

Play it like an Asa deck. Build single ice remotes. Get the Cohorts and Anthills online to push yourself forward. If you get turns to FA agendas (as described later) just send it. But don't be afraid to push on the board either. Getting one scored without the need for the FA lines allows you to be less reliant on finding petty cash and you have good enough ice to make a decent remote. Additionally once you've used the remote for scoring that's where you're gonna want to put the wage workers later. Getting one of those to stick makes fast advancing much easier.

So how does one click to 10? Well let's start simple

3 click turn

... Cmon you know how to do this

4 click turn

These aren't huge but draw, operation, install, click for a credit are some pretty common turns that can just get some basic drip out of MirrorMorph.

6 click turn

This is where we start scoring agendas and having fun.

  1. Petty cash from archives, 3 clicks left
  2. RLC to gain or draw and gain a click, 3 clicks left
  3. Install an 3/2, 2 clicks and a MirrorMorph click left
  4. Advance, this is your restricted MM click, 2 clicks left 5 and 6 advance and score.

If you took the credits from RLC this cost you net nothing and could be done from 3c at start of turn. If you score a luminal then have some fun with the rest of your turn.

7 click turn

The same as above but with Nanomanagement instead of RLC, this scores 4/2s, namely Offworld Office. This can be done when you start your turn with 6 credits and nets you one credit from offoff/petty cash.

7 click turn.... Again

Nanomanagement is expensive, what if we could score a 4/2 with the RLC? This is where Wage Workers comes in. Do the 6 click turn with a wage workers rezed and you'll gain a wage click. Score your Offworld Office from hand netting 6 credits in the process. Was your wage workers in hand? No worries! Just install it with RLC instead of money or draw and you can still score the 4/2

8 click turn

How do you feel about scoring a 5/3 from hand for 7 credits? A combination of the two pervious scores, playing a nano and gain a wage workers click will score us a 5/3 from hand.

10 click turn

Oh no, you have your Send a Message in hand but you don't have the nanomanagement, and maybe there isn't even a wage workers on the board? It's time to be CI for a turn. You'll need somewhere from 7-11 credits depending on if you need to install and rez a wage workers from RLC.

  1. Petty Cash, 3 clicks left
  2. Install 5/3 behind ice. 2 clicks left. If you don't have the 5/3 yet it may still be possible if you take the next step first but you'll a have slightly worse odds for what comes next....
  3. Fully Op and draw like the game depends on it. 1 click and a MirrorMorph click left. Hopefully you have enough of a board built you'll get 6, or maybe 8 card draws off this.
  4. Advance with your restricted MirrorMorph click. 1 click left.
  5. RLC to install (and rez) wage workers and gain a click. 1 click left.
  6. Nanomanagement and gain a wage click, 3 clicks left. 7-10 advance 4 times, gaining a wage workers click in the process and score your 5/3.

Full credit to alpi in this one, he realized we could get the wage workers for operations and blew the possibilities for this deck wide open. I think this deck can't close often enough without it.

Thank you to all the organizers and all my opponents on the weekend. It was a ton of fun and extremely well organized. Thanks to Alpi and BaaRamWu for the MirrorMorph inspiration. And thanks to the fellowship of the bling (Sokka and SebK) for bringing home CoS on the weekend.

Click-gain combos is exactly what I love in my corps :D Once I realized that Petty Cash worked so well with MM I started working on something incredibly similar to this but hadn't actually sleeved it yet - glad to see it's worth doing! Nice job and cool deck
