The Worst Glacier: 0-1-2 at ECG Lockdown

cablooshe 136

This list was made for the Emerald City Grid Lockdown Tournament

Point spend was:

Originally those were Wraparounds but I got some good advice from @FireRL to actually spend the 10 points we were given to make decks :D. That add helped a lot (though not enough).

A few of you might've seen me on Jnet messing around with some variant of this list over the last few weeks. This was definitely a hyper-fixation of mine where the entire time I was going maybe this is the secret sauce for Lockdown. I should secretly test this out and see if it's viable.

Then I looked at the Jnet results. The tournament results were not an unexpected outcome

Then I decided to take it anyways :D.

This deck has 2 "wincons":

I also had 2 ""wincons"" (Just imagine me quoting even harder then the above):

  • Scoring with Remastered Edition->Vulnerability Audit->2x Echo Chamber is more of a joke then a real wincon, but I had considered it as a backup.
  • I guess timing out the runner because wow this deck was slow. I didn't think about this at all until 2 of my 3 games went to time lmao. Is this why people don't play glacier? I very much understand if it is.
    • To be real going to time hurt me more then the runner I was only barely holding even with points on the one game that turned into a tie and every other game I was waaay behind. I think in the other two games I scored exactly one Echo Chamber.

Honestly should have done something like dropped the Remastered Editions and added 2x Degree Mill, since I had a single free point to spend and Bellona cost 2 for Lockdown.

Otherwise, you may notice that this deck has a sweet 59 cards. The night before I decided to cut 10 cards to look a lot more like the Azmari BtL list. Then I decided against it because I wanted 20 ICE.

It's simple. Get 5 ICE on 4 servers and it'll be an easy win I thought. There's no way that anyone could win before that happens I thought.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Anyways I got tempo'd out of like every matchup and then even when I was able to slightly set up I was either into runners that could still get in with some pretty strong tools or would just get timed out because this deck is way too slow lol.

I love Henry Phillips. All my ICE except for Thimblerig and Rime would either pay dividends for me or set up for future dividends on more ICE like Funhouse.

Vovô Ozetti was a last minute add, replacing Jinja City Grid. On one hand, it was harder to set up a 5 deep ICE server. On the other hand, I was able to rez Henry Phillips for free twice, and Daily Quest once, which was cool.

NAPD Cordon was an interesting add. I think forcing the runner to pay 6 for an agenda is pretty good for tempo. That said, I'd drop this card for sure to bring this down to 49.

I forgot that Shipment from Vladisibirsk needed 2 tags to play. In retrospect, I'd put Backroom Machinations or something instead here to make it easier to punish floating a tag.

Ok scratch that, if I wanted to turn this into a real deck I'd cut pretty much all of the tag synergy. Acme is probably better as a blank ID except for the outermost F2Ps and Hydras lol. RIP the return of Henry Phillips, Jan 2024-Jan 2024. You will be missed.

Big thanks to @FireRL for organizing and everyone who played! Every single game played was so much fun, I'm really excited for when we do this again!

❤️ Glad you enjoyed it, and that you're looking forward to the next one!

This looks suuuuuuuuuuuuper different than the ACME deck I mentioned I almost brought 🙂
