rotage 2934

Intro
During UK nats the Aldershot meta chatted about jank formats for a January event, the idea of only playing Odd cost or Even cost cards came up and the format was born

Rules are you can either have odd or even cost cards in you deck (zero cost are banned) For Agendas rhe advancement requirement is used instead of cost

I tried a lots of different factions and there are plenty of viable decks but I settled on this one as it felt the most fun with Fast Advance feeling a good win condition with no Clot/Simulchip combo being available

The Deck
Unlike the runner deck this was trickier to build as the econ options were harder, I was never fully convinced by Personalized Portal but it proved used during the day

The Games
I struggled more to remember these games so apologies for less details

Round 1 - Zoehope - (Won) Zoe was playing a Padma (Odd) Managed to get to 5 points while Zoe had stolen 5 points from 2 Khusyuk runs, this forces to be careful. She kept her money up and keep poking HQ which made it harder for me to dig for the winning agenda (I Had fast advance pieces in HQ) eventually I found the agenda and won, while making it very taxing for he to run

Round 2 - Swiftie - (Lost) Swifie was playing an Los deco (Odd) which he had shared with me a few days before, I had not offered him such courtesy. I got crushed in this game, I struggled for econ early on while getting Agenda flooded, Swiftie stole some of my agendas, then installed a Rubicon Switch while he had 20+ credits, I conceded at this point

Round 3 - xccam - (Won) xccam was playing a Lat (Odd) He was using both Cyberdella and Mantle which made it hard to make the servers taxing, I did score some early Ares which made it harder for him to trash my upgrades, eventually he went tag me so I was able to Fast Advance out the winning Bellona

Round 4 - Loki - (Won) Loki was playing a Loup (Odd) I rushed out to 5 AP while Loki stole an early Bellona which made him poor, I strengthed the servers while I setup the fast advance combo and was able to fast advance out the winning agenda

Conclusion I had a lot of fun not only playing the event but preparing for it, trying to figure out not only what decks I would play but what others would play was an interesting puzzle to solve. It would be nice if Even corp had a way to purge without losing too much tempo, maybe unban Cyberdex Sandbox?

Thanks to Loki for organising the event Thanks to everyone attending was a fantastic event and I hope to see you all again soon

What were the author's thoughts on the overall experience of the event, including the preparation and the puzzle of predicting opponents' deck choices? @snake) game
