Curtain Wall

APAC Continentals in the flesh. What an incredible weekend of community, friendship, touching cards and enjoying the NR hype.

This was probably the first competition I came into feeling relaxed, mildly confident about a Top 20 placing in a rather strong field of 64. I've found that running the nets is as much about Me (and my many anxieties and brutal inner narratives) as it is the game itself and the lovely co-players across the table. A huge thanks goes to the various friends and players groups I've had the privilege of connecting and playing with over the years, who've helped me feel welcome and a valued part of the community. I am deeply grateful to the ❤️Australian Micro Brewers group, ❤️the newish Nah Yeah Nah (NYN) testing crew and the ❤️OG ANZ group Drop Bear Lair.

My corp is an iteration of the BTL that helped me to a 7th place finish at Adelaide Megas. In pre-Conts testing the deck performed quite well, with a fairly even split of Responding and scoring out. NYN crew tweaked the deck with the inclusion of 2x BUA's to help accelerate the Akhet advancement.

Alas, alack on the weekend the deck went 1-3.

1. An early flood in game 1 vs RJorb on Sable.

2. Self-inflicted game loss - completely missed sleeving 2 Flyswatters. A lesson for everyone, quad check your decks and submission list.

3. A runner hail Mary win off R&D to break a game tie, on time.

4. A win into an aggressive MT deck.

The win for me was not riding the Tilt-a-Whirl but rather choosing to enjoy the day and peeps 😍

The deck - the intent is to build an expensive Wall that creates windows to score or tax the runner into being Measured and found wanting.

The ICE suite is barrier heavy because screw Entangler. 🛠️
