2014 Seattle Regional. 1st Place. 78 People. Uncle's Games

We should call this Red Jackets. Or Red Sweater. Or Red Poncho. Everyone seems to throw names onto Corp decks nowadays.

Inspired by decks I've seen Mediohxcore & Genestealers play, this is a taxing Jinteki Deck. Going away from the normal kill strategy, the success of this deck is based on your assets & expensive centrals. I've been torn between Fetal AI or Future Perfect as the last agenda. Sometimes you get to 4 & you just want that 3 pointer to close it out, but I also don't like having extra points in my decks. Inazuma was kind of meh & ICHI 2.0 was just OK. Another Tollbooth & a Quandary might be better.

You play this deck like HB rather than like Jinteki. Be ready for a longer grind of a game. Try to get out your econ assets out as fast as possible, protecting them or not is a call on who you're playing. It is good to lightly protect Sundews. Ideally, I liked to have some type of ETR ICE as the innermost ICE protecting centrals with something they'll HAVE to pay for as the outermost. You don't want them just running into your server for free, only to jack out & run the remotes. A Remote with 2 or 3 stacked ELIs & a Caprice hiding behind it can be amazing. 12 credits with Corroder & THEN a PSI game to get through?! FML. You'll feel poor at first but will eventually stabilize & the money should start pouring in. Scoring a NISEI MKII should be your first priority. This is like an AstroTrain but for Jinteki.

Runners Played that day: Andromeda, Kate, Iain, Andromeda, Reina, Reina, Andromeda, Andromeda

What was the win/loss? Did any games go to time or get close?

My only two losses the entire day were against my buddy Kyle running Andromeda. One was me being ridiculously agenda flooded, the other came down to the wire on his last access & I had my winning agenda to score next turn.

None of my matches went to time except for one. I played Corp first against his Kate deck & won, but it took awhile & we didn't get to finish the next game. Played it 4 times in Eliminations (35 Minute) rounds & it finished in time, no problem.

Right on, I'm glad you did so well. I'm also running an RP taxing deck but different enough that I don't think the two decks would be considered related. Mine go a little long, so that's why I was asking.

I like Red Poncho, fits the theme of colored clothing as well as fitting the Replicating Perfection abbreviation: 'RP'

Ruby Slippers'd have my vote.

Silly name things aside, a nice RP build. I especially like Ichi 2.0 in RP, that seems like it'd cause runners a great deal of trouble on a central server in front of ETR ice. Expensive to break, turn-wasting to click through...

Hey, Glad to see that you won with RP ;), I did 4th in Paris Regional with mine (without tops).

I don't really like Mental Health Clinic and Celebrity Gift in this deck. Mental Health is always trashed quickly so it's taxing (2 credits with despe :/) but not really an economy card... And generally, I don't like to show my hand in RP with celebrity gift. That's your opinion on these.

Also if you drop Fetal I would suggest to lower the number of Komainu :) it cost me a game.

Mental Health Clinics put in work during my games. I've been happy with them. Celebrity Gift was my only other main economy option (not a fan of Fundraiser/giving the runner money).

Komainu could definitely be a problem once a runner decides to just faceplant through them. Usually that happens late game, which as RP you should hopefully be in a pretty good position by then.

What'd you swap in for your econ Thomas? Would love to give it a try

Ruby Slippers...that's just money right there!

Ichi would get stuck over R&D or sometimes a remote if they had only a Mimic out with no suckers.

Good annoying sets were usually: Pup, Pup, Tsurugi. Ichi 2.0, Pup, Tsurugi

Wall of Thorns & Tollbooth are good outermost pieces of ICE too.

Nicely done, that is a really, really tough deck to beat. Congratulations on first place! I am partial to Red Poncho, I'd go with that one.

I used melange mining corp in the scoring server and private contract as an other anti siphon strategy. But it slow the deck a little

Go go go Red Poncho !

Also Subliminal is generally quite good Here

Are you the guy running Stimhack? I found this on Stimhack and this was the deck that finally made me want to play Jinteki. Great job on your wins man.

23 Jun 2014 BazooKaJoe

The guy running Stimhack is a guy named Anthony aka SneakySly. He had a very similar, strong Jinteki deck too. There is post about it on that site, go check it out!

Melange could be a good thing to setup if they are successful at trashing all your asset econ. Someone also mentioned bumping this deck up to 54 cards, which could be interesting...

Noone in your Meta runs Morning Star? Because wit would just scew most of your taxing ice. The influence means you'll most likely see it in anarch, but still, noone? And parasite recursion also doesn't seem to be a thin, since most of your sentries are very low strength.

How do you avoid getting destroyed by an anarch with morning star?

24 Jun 2014 BazooKaJoe

Ran into 1 Morning Star & 2 Parasite recursion decks. Eli is useless after that & your Komainus & Tsurugis are prime parasite targets. Truth is, Anarch is usually slower (& I love Anarch) & not the wealthiest of runners...so by the time Morningstar comes out you can be pretty set up. For parasites, your centrals are already taxing to run...so you just have to interns or Jackson back ICE in you want & be ready to grind out a win. Parasite decks & Whizzard are definitely the toughest match ups.

This deck has nothing original in it. Ash + Caprice has been going since Caprice came out, the rest is just taxing ice, also standart for RP.

I don't even see anything surpsing in the ICE section.

Just the standart RP i've been seing on stimhack.com winning tournaments. Hardly a decklist of the week in my opinion.
