Conspiracy Shop

Aerosaucer 257

This deck was not my idea, but I'm exactly the type of jerk who can't remember the name of the guy I played on jnet who showed me this, and coined the name. Maybe he will post it and I'll delete this or something. I made quite few changes and did not see the entire decklist, so he may have some better ideas than what's here.

This is the most fun I have had playing netrunner in a long time, and even when I win, opponents often comment on how fun an idea it is. I thought it would be janky but it actually plays very smoothly and INSANELY fast (and rich). It can sometimes be slow to start, but it's so strong when it gets going that you can afford to let the corp get a few turns of safety while you set up. I thought it would be a novelty, but I think it might actually be competitive?

The basic combo is Cybertrooper Talut, Aesop's Pawnshop, and conspiracy breakers, assisted by Patchwork and Paladin Poemu. If you have any breakers installed at the start of turn, sell one to Aesops. Then, whenever you run, install only the breakers you need, at a discount, with +2 strength for the entire turn (!!) (which is a HUGE DEAL for conspiracy breakers and will save you 3+ credits almost every time), only to be sold again at the beginning of next turn. Only having the breakers you absolutely need also has the benefit of giving you more money in reserve to fight off a Punitive or HHN.

Everything else in the deck supports that core combo. Buffer Drive is actually really important, because between your ID, DreamNet, Earthrise Hotel, and I've Had Worse, you're going through your deck very fast and this helps you avoid running out of cards. It can also act as a pseudo tutor that combos super well with your ID. Fire it before your turn begins to put Wanton Destruction on top of the stack, auto-draw with your ID or Earthrise, then have 4 clicks left to Wanton. Trash an early Labor Rights to Patchwork then get it back if you want it.

Since you're already using Talut, I added another link from The Archivist so you could trigger Dreamnet even when not digital, plus it's just a good card anyway.

Stargate plus Wanton Destruction give you RD and HQ pressure, and a special mention goes to Hyperdriver, which is there solely to give you a badass Wanton turn where you trash all 5 cards in HQ and still have a click to clean out archives. Hyperdriver is also good for a big trash turn vs. RP or to draw a big hand to steal an advanced City Works Project. It's a nice bonus that you can soft tutor it with Gachapon.

It's also worth noting that Hoshiko Shiro: Untold Protagonist is optimally used by accessing every other turn to keep flipping her ID (though don't try too hard to make this happen), and having your central pressure cards NOT access can actually be a good thing to help you keep that rhythm going.

I also really like Gachapon in this deck, even though it accelerates you running out of cards, because some of the deck's key resources are virtual, including Talut and DreamNet, and it can help you tutor breakers (which you can then pawn for a profit), and the deck has a lot of duplicates (the better to feed to Patchwork), which can be nice to RFG.

The guy who invented this deck was playing it out of Edward Kim (to get to 3 link? We got disconnected before he could explain), but I moved it to Hoshiko because she sometimes has link, can trigger DreamNet without it, and draws more cards to feed to Patchwork (and with Stargate and Wanton you are actually rarely accessing operations).

I think the flex card slots in this deck are Scrubber and Labor Rights, which might be better as Stimhack 3 (lol install your breakers with stimhack money then sell them for a profit next turn) and a 2nd DreamNet, or something else I haven't thought of.

Hey dude! I'm the guy who you played. I love what you've done with the core idea! My list was a Kim deck but this is on another level. Looks great! Nice job!

Here's a link to my original list just for reference: netrunnerdb.com I think yours is much more interesting.

I was doing something similar out of Hayley last year at Worlds that was working fairly well, just running 1 of MKUltra and BlOrchestra, since you can tutor them with SMC. You'd install them with Sahasrara, which sadly doesn't exist any more (which also worked to install Cache for free too). It was a Chameleon deck primarily, but with BlOrch, MKUltra, and Pelangi's, it got through things fairly well.

Doing something similar out of Hoshiko is cool, though. It makes me want to either try it out, or take a couple Paladins and jam them into my old Hayley deck to try and relive the magic. Sweet stuff, dude =)

I took this deck for a test drive last night at my local meta and it's absolutely fantastic fun. It's shockingly effective and ultra fun to pilot.

Highlight of the night: I played Wanton Destruction a total of FIVE times in one match against my opponent. He ended up banishing all my breakers except MKUltra via Ark Lockdown but honestly, I had the moral victory.

I will say that my singular complaint about this deck is that I did not invent it, because it's a very me deck.

My singular idea for a possible change is to squeeze in some multiaccess, even if it's 1 or 2 The Turning Wheel.
