Over and Out v1.1

paddosan 3413

I've been tuning my Chaos Theory Overmind deck, and this version seems much more effective than the previous one.

Spent my influence rather differently this time, with the only out-of-faction IB being a Femme Fatale, which can easily solve most problematic situations (Wraparound, Swordsman, Ice Wall / Hadrian's Wall, etc...).

Added Ice Carver to save tons of money in the long run, and 2 copies of Legwork because early multi-access on HQ can be brutal. Switched from TME to Indexing because it's a more all-around card and not accessing means no risk against Jinteki.

Why inti over snowball?

Just for the installation cost. Since it's a card I'd only install in case my opponent plays Wraparound (which then becomes STR 0), didn't wanna have another expensive Icebreaker.

It's not so bad with Ice Carver is installed, anyway.

I tried a (really similar) version of this deck, and instead of posting yet another deck(TM) I wanted to post a comment here.

Despite anything IT IS VERY GOOD, and I went almost undefeated to a small tournament we ran (the only match I lost was due to a Jinteki sniping out of my hand all the 3 Test Run and the Levy AR Lab Access...).

Economy-wise I didn't expect it to work so well, but it did, and I really re-evaluated tri-maf contacts (albeit it's risky as you get the damage also if you want to trash it from your hand...).

As an after tought I'd only add more multi-access (or more levy ar lab access), and find space for a second femme fatale.

OverTheory works, it's not tier-1, but it works REALLY well ;)

Thanks for the feedback @Flatline!

Regarding multiaccess, it's true that at time I feel the lack of The Maker's Eye, but when I play against Jinteki, Indexing is so much better! Plus I reached a point where every card is important and wouldn't exactly know what to change.

I'll see if, with Upstalk, some changes could be made.

@paddosan That is a very fun deck to play. I was also surprised how effective Tri-Maf contracts is - you actually get credits to play with before unloading Kati! I will definitely try to tweak this, possibly Akamatsus for the Deep Reds, and use the influence for Stimhacks. I'm not sure about Dirty Laundry, Diesel or Levy AR either, and I'd probably feel safer with an extra Plascrete. Don't you have problems with tag and bag? Still, as is, this deck is amazing.

@Flatline Tri-maf only deals damage when trashed, this does not include discarding at the end of your turn (p14 of the rulebook), so you can just overdraw and discard if you don't want it.

@joemillions you're right, discarding for excess card is not trashing, but everything else is. One net damage could become 1 net+3 meat... pretty dangerous. Still a very nice card!

@joemillionsThanks, I didn't face much Tag n Bag in the last months, to be honest... there's a lot of NBN fast advance in the current italian meta, but very little Tag n Bag. On the italian national tournament, held last saturday, there were 14 NBN decks out of the 30 participants, for example! One more Plascrete wouldn't hurt, however, and going to 41 cards shouldn't be a problem either.

I've been quite undecided about Diesel, but without it the deck felt considerably slower, so I decided to keep 2 copies and have been quite happy with them, so far. Levy AR also proved invaluable, in case the game goes on for a long time.

@paddosan Hmm, maybe I'll take your word for it, leave Levy in there and play it more - see how often I use it.
