The Sanguine: A Stealth Deck (Post-Restricted-List)

StarlightCrusade 104

Ayla was a very social runner. She loved nothing more than to hang out with her friends, at all hours of the day. College friends, Artsy Friends, Online friends, you name it! Even Ayla's Church friends came when they knew she was giving the Game Day party (bringing insane card draw, of course).

Like all sanguines, however, Ayla had her struggles. Sometimes, she felt like a Trope in a sitcom, the way she would Mirror the emotions of everyone around her. She liked to gossip about other people's Dirty Laundry. And sometimes, she was just so worn out that she needed to take a Power Nap or two. Or three.

But The Professor: Keeper of Knowledge had faith in her. "Make Study Guides", he said, "Work hard, and focus! And maybe, you'll have a Lucky Find, finally place The Personal Touch on your Magnum Opus, and you'll be rich enough even to buy LLDS Memory Diamonds, or maybe even bring about Peace in Our Time." And yes, the professor really talked in that stilted fashion. His vocabulary really was too big for his own good. He was a professor, after all.

Awesome text.

Still, why would you run Stealth out of anything but Smoke?

(Potentially) Faster setup. Once you remove the 4 cards from the deck into NVRAM, Ayla has a 41 card deck. Considering that you get the extra 2 NVRAM cards that you don't pick to choose from, that's (sort of) a 39 card deck. Plus, you get to mulligan or not based on how the cards you draw for your first hand interact with the ones in NVRAM. Draw a Game Day on its own...big deal. But draw one when you know that a Beach Party is only a NVRAM click away...much better.

This is only a half-stealth deck, by the way. On the turns when you run, you use the stealth credits on Fawkes (usually). On the turns when you don't run, use the stealth credits to build up Study Guide. Blackstone should probably be replacing Snowball here. If you're not using ALL of your breakers as stealth, you can get by without that extra stealth credit.

Also....ooops... Power Nap is cycling out. Missed that one.

So is Starlight Crusade Funding isn't it?

They both are, unfortunately. Thank you for pointing that out. It would be nice if some sign for "cycled out" would show up when you added a card to the list, like the stars used to show up when something was on the MWL.

@StarlightCrusade There's a way to do something like that. In deckbuilder, under collection, unmark the old Core, Spin and Genesis and mark the Revised Core. Now, you can't use the old outcycled cards anymore. You don't even find them if you search them by name.

@StarlightCrusade Double decks have always been a bit weak so far and it's hard to make Starlight really shine. I think Ayla is a great idea to make it work! But in my experience, PPVP + Double works well, PPVP + Stealth works well, but Double + Stealth is a bit of a lackluster combo.

@DonLoverGate You can build stealth deck out of a lot of IDs from all factions. Ayla makes sense, because she's good at finding key pieces. Hayley and Kate also have abilities that increase your overall setup speed, which is very useful for a stealth deck. Kit is awesome, because she gets such a long way with just a Refractor.

@Kramsthanks for the tip! Also, now that Starlight Crusade Funding and Power Nap are both out, the only doubles card the deck really needs is the Game Day. There's probably better ways to use the influence from Lucky Find if it's not helping make the Power Naps stronger. But I have an irrational affinity for doubles decks...
