The 4 player Graveyard Cube - Runner

bluebird503 1980

This is the first iteration of a new cube that I am managing, the "Graveyard" cube. This cube is a mashup of rotated cards that are no longer legal play, along with excess cards you would have from a second core set, as well as cards found in the four available world championship decks. Ideally you can have this cube built 24/7 without ever needing to touch it for your competitive deck building purposes.

The cube is 180 cards and meant to be drafted with a 4 player group. The cube divides evenly into 45 cards, leaving 3 packs for each person. You will draft three 15 card packs going left, right, left(or the other way who cares).

This cube is in its initial stages and has yet to be tested. It is likely very unbalanced. Furthermore there are likely few changes that could be made to balance it without including cards from greater collections, limited the current purpose of the cube(something to do with your first 2 cycles!).

As more cards are rotated and banned (or unbanned) the cube will be updated and managed. Will try to balance with the limited amount of card pool that is available.

As for cube starters you can use the regular cube starters or you can make up your own. I recommend one of each crappy breaker for the runner side, and then something like two armitage or two sure gamble depending on what you have lying around from drafting or world champ decks. If you don't have extra econ than just leave it out and let players click for some credits :D.

Any feedback is appreciated. Remember this cubes main purpose is to allow players to utilize their rotated cards in what is hopefully a fun and useful way. Enjoy.

Neat-o! I've been meaning to do the same myself, glad someone less lazy than I got around to it XD Just some quick suggestions:

I'm not a fan of the banned cards being in here. Overpowered cards like Bloo Moose tend to warp the draft by giving a huge boost to those who draft it, and cards like Aaron MarrĂ³n are silver bullets which are no fun in draft as they mean one person will guaranteed be immune to your win-con.

Also, if you're going to put in Yog.0 and Mimic, I heavily suggest adding some number of Datasucker so they're not always tossed away. Perhaps taking the extra 1 out of a 2 core set? Maybe there's a few in the champion decks?

I'm also not sure how I feel having so many 3 of breakers, especially given it's only a 4 player cube. My guess is you'll get 3/4 players running Corroder and ZU.13 Key Master, the former of which is the best in it's class. The best part of drafting is forcing sub-optimal deck building imo.

I'll let you know if I use this cube and give you more detailed feedback then :)

Cheers!
