Glacier out of yellow...?

alt text

Well if you're looking for something a bit different in a deck that can hold its own, then look no further.

So MWL 1.2 happened, giving a breath of life to glacier builds. Take a bunch of solid economy cards, stir in some ICE and add amounts of Ash and Caprice to flavour. The ingredients to every standard glacier deck. Unfortunately yellow has never had the same support for glacier builds as the other factions have...

But wait, it's not as simple as that. Maybe there is light on the horizon after all. Somewhere along the line NBN gained a bunch of now forgotten cards that synergies with tracers. By using a weird agenda suite consisting of Improved Tracers and Net Quarantine, this deck can quickly turn cheap taxing ICE into 'GOD LEVEL' taxing ICE. So naturally all the ICE in this deck has the tracer sub-type. Enjoy watching those conspiracy breakers whelp after adding a second Improved Tracers to your score area :3

The world could always use more tracers

Looks nice, thou with number of tracers I'm worried about one nasty card: Power Tap that can wreck this build horribly.

Have you considered adding one or two Aryabhata Tech?

Big counter cards like power tap and gingerbread see very little play. I'd be more worried about lurking rumor mill's. I personally would steer away from adding any assets to the deck as you only want to invest in one remote. Also most runners are too careful to let tracers fire, so often the ICE is just a heavy tax on their breakers, making Aryabhata less reliable.

hi @BeNNyBiLL

Seeing yesterday 3 different runners builds based on Security Nexus with 2-3 Power Tap made me think that link economy builds are more and more popular and not only with Sunny and Andromeda. Efficiency was shocking - using Macrophage as a burst economy tool (4 traces x 2 credits from Power Tap - yuck!).

But it's good to see different deck concepts for NBN!

@Urziel well I'm glad you like it. Your meta must be a strange place. I haven't seen a Sunny player in months and DLR Andy is not so common either and won't always run power tap. At least DLR cycles soon.

I play online - so full spectrum of players.

+1 for gif. Have you considered Troll?

26 Apr 2017 BeNNyBiLL

@J-Flex I was aware of Troll while selecting the ICE suite but at only trace2 for costing the runner a click is not nearly as taxing as some of the other ICE nor can it guarantee an ETR. I like Troll, but its a weird piece of ICE to get mileage from. It would work better out of NBN: Making News, probably abusing Heinlein Grid somehow. But that's another deck entirely.

Yeah Troll is a fringe card but gets very interesting with Surveillance Sweep especially if you're on par/richer than the runner. With just the 1 Sweep it's less useful.

Wonder if I should reply with "Have you considered Troll?" for all your future lists :)

Hi , i have tried the deck for like 15 matches and its been very fun, i was wondering how do you usualy arrange the ice? i am having trouble finding the right spot for things like draco and wondering if the deck could use some friends?

Hello @ezojg.

I wouldn't say I have a strict way of placing ICE for any corp deck. You need to be reactive to your opponent. And to be honest, I've only put the Draco in here as it fits the "is cheap to rez and is a tracer". I'm basically finding an excuse to play a card I'd otherwise would never play as it will soon cycle. You should change them if you wanted to step things up. I'd be wary of putting higher cost ICE in as its still so easy to see it all blown up and the operation econ will struggle to support it. Personally I'd switch them to a Turnpike and an Excalibur. IP Block can feel a bit lacklustre when the runner has no AI, so in those match-ups I think an Excalibur can create great scoring windows in conjunction with the upgrades,

If you wanted to try friends then swap a Caprice for a third Ash and drop a couple of operations for them.
