Fraudcoats

Fraudcoats, or how I learned MWL is only half the answer.

Friends, I have great news! FFG has bestowed upon us a list of cards worthy of penalty filled with annoying cats and broken consoles. With our good friend Eli coming off this list is it time to revisit decks of a bygone era and perhaps "Make Glacier Great Again?"

Yes, but this is not that deck. It plays a lot like a traditional Foodcoats deck in plenty of games, but its influence isn't spent on Caprice or NAPD and instead we try to set up an oppressive game ending lock on the runner's economy. For an explanation of how this works I'll refer to the FAQ on the principal card: MCA Informant.

Can the Corp install MCA Informant on a rezzed Corporate Troubleshooter? An unrezzed Corporate Troubleshooter? Yes and yes. If the Corp installs MCA Informant on an unrezzed Corporate Troubleshooter, they must reveal the Troubleshooter to the Runner to confirm that it has the connection subtype.

If the Corp installs MCA Informant on a Corporate Troubleshooter, does the Runner have access to the click ability to trash it? No. The ability is on the Corporate Troubleshooter, so it is only available to the Corp as an action. The Runner must trash the Corporate Troubleshooter while accessing it or through a card ability.

While MCA Informant is installed as a condition counter, can the tag be removed if the Runner has no tag tokens? No. The Runner is considered to have an additional tag, but it cannot be manipulated by card abilities.

This deck is a fraud. The wording on MCA Informant is outrageous and while I applaud the UFAQ for interpreting this card with respect to its exact wording I think this needs to be changed yesterday.

The game plan is simple. Fairchild, Ichi, and Eli are well known good ice. Get them installed on your centrals and one to two remotes. Throw an Eli on Archives so they don't run it a bunch with their Temujin. Throw some campaigns out to produce econ. If the runner trashes them - recur them. If they keep doing this they'll dry up their econ which doesn't sound so bad... except that for four credits and two clicks you can install Troubleshooter with an unavoidable tag that cannot be removed in one of the servers you were planning on securing anyway. Put it in the toughest one. Ash helps you keep him alive in your remote.

From here on out the game plan is stupid. Closed keeps them poor. Clone Suffrage keeps them busy and keeps Closed Accounts and Friends in High Places in your hand and campaigns on the board. In between the runner's frantic attempts at restoring their economy score your agendas. It's ok to let the lock lift to score your last agenda - remember Troubleshooter has his own built in ability so you can use him to turn your server into an impenetrable fortress the last click of the runner's turn. Good times.

"Make Glacier Great Again?"

As a climato-skeptic, the glaciers have always been great.

I mean rumor has it that's not actually true.

You are an evil human being.

That being said, I really enjoy playing against you on J-Net. Sorry if I've ever been salty.

@BizTheDad nothing to worry about, haha. If anything I remember at least a couple games I was salty after playing vs you on Iain. No big deal. :)
