Power Beale (2nd place sc Pocatello, ID)

jelyman 112

This deck is pretty straight forward. Basic start is pretend to be on kill, get 3 points ASAP, finish with power shut/ad combo for a 4 point Beale. I removed a cyberdex because I wasn't expecting many shapers and thus no clot. Changed third sweeps and the cyberdex for the two currents which helped against the siphon decks. For the basic Beale combo you only need 9 credits so you don't need a ton of money. Might consider adding a psychographics which would add a bunch of flexibility if they go tag me.

The basic combo advances a Beale 8 times.

  1. Install Jackon
  2. Power Shutdown your entire deck (uses Jacko to get Interns, Biotic Labour, and Reclamtion Order.
  3. Accelerated Diagnostics installing second Jackson, gaining two clicks and adding all Accelerated Diagnostics to hand (jackson back Interns, Interns, and Shipment from SanSan)
  4. AD...installing last Jackson and Project Beale, then advancing Beale twice (final jackson to get Shipment from SanSan x3)
  5. Ad to advance Beale 6 more times and score 4 points!

You can win from only 2 points by advancing the Beale one more time. To do this either have jackson already installed or play Biotic from hand on combo turn (if your first score was Astro obviously just use the token). You will need 10 credits if Jackson is pre installed and 14 credits for the Biotic route.

My brother played an older version of this deck I played at a Gnk (where it went undefeated) and he did very well with it too. All in all in tournaments this deck has gone 12-2 .

At first I thought Siphon decks may cause a problem but due to the current meta, most decks I have faced had siphon and they didn't stop it. You can rush out a score using Haarp tricks and shipment from SanSan if you are poor. Between Haarp's ability, Quantum Predictive Model and the three 2/1 agendas getting to 3 points is quite easy. you will likely get siphon locked for a while but just click for credits, play sweeps , or Targeted Marketing as able. Eventually they run out of siphons or take a bit of time to set up as they now think they have the game on lock and you can no longer kill them. get to your 9 credits wit Jackson, PS, and AD then its gg!

Against non siphon decks there is little they can do. They play safe because they think you are on kill. just get to 3 then draw til you win.

If you play shaper with this build just pray you can rush before they clot/sac con you. Once that is set up you pretty much have no hope. Like i said it was a meta call taking out Cyberdex and it worked for me. Clot and Sac Con is definitely this decks biggest weak spot.

Give it a try....the deck is a lot of fun to surprise people with and surprisingly strong even when they know whats coming. Thanks to all the Hackaholics that make the Idaho/Utah meta so strong!

Questions comments and concerns are always welcomed.

why no Subliminal Messaging since does it do the same biotic stuff during the combo?

Hmmm I'm not seeing how it would do the same thing as biotic. Sub Messaging would yield one extra click but the biotic gives you two which allows the three ad/Jackson Howard uses.

With all the tag in the deck would a one of Psychographics make sense? Seems like one could easily make the cut.

@hutch9514 yes as I said at the end of the OP, I think a single Psychographics could be a good fit. If they go tag me not only can you fa stuff, but it allows you to use Jackson which normally you have to save for the combo. For exams if they have 5 tags you can score your 4 point Beale using only one Jackson and 7 credits.

  1. Install Jackson 2 Power Shutdown (use Jackson to bring back Interns, Shipment from Sansan, and Psychographics) 3 AD to install Beale and advance 7 times.

What's the purpose of the Special Report's - I never seem to have a good reason to play them.

@dzreams Special Report is there just to get you your combo pieces faster. Once you've got your 3 points use Special Report as soon as you get it use it. I make sure that I'm at least switching 3 cards. It's also useful in edge cases to get rid of a card you need I. The deck prior to the combo like Reclematio. Order, Biotic, etc...
