Bollywood - 1st Lake Garda Regional (undefeated)

mao 935

Hi everyone! This is a classic NEH asset spam, not much to say here. It went undefeated during the day and i was happy to have dropped the second Team Sponsorship for a Psychic Field. If the runner is too curious and checks every remote Psychic Field punish him, it allows me to slow him down, to gain advantage and one good side effect is also that it makes me score some naked agendas after.

Here my runner deck: https://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/36136/mao-s-freedom-from-destruction-1st-lake-garda-regional

I need to face one of these decks to understand why it wins so much these days. Your card draw is good, I get that, but with so few defenses, how do you stop the Runner from nabbing agenda's?

@The Broken Meeple In my experience, the main factors are:

  • The only thing really costing you money is scoring, rezzing is pretty much free.
  • The ICE is surpringly annoying to go through repeatedly, especially given how it gets rezzed for free (so as the runner you always lose tempo on the exchange)
  • The agendas are annoying to steal (hello, NAPD Contract) and you need to grab quite a few of them. There's also enough there that you stealing them as runner doesn't necessarily stop the corp from scoring, which is a problem because it costs you more to steal than it costs them to score.
  • There's only mild amount punishment for bad decisions, but all of it can be game-ending at the right moment (Psychic Field, Archangel, The All-Seeing I)... so if the runner doesn't play flawlessly, they can lose the game for themselves just fine
  • The extreme facerolliness of yellow cards against opponents that are passive and/or not teched properly will let you cruise through games on autopilot sometimes.
  • With all that card draw, you end up being very resilient to bad shuffles/openings, while the runner doesn't have anything like that. As a result, games that would be auto-losses are still totally winnable for you, and some games you just run away completely without the runner being able to do much.

Makes sense, little experience with this ID as my wide decks tend to be Jinteki/Weyland.

To even add a little more to what Peekay said, it's so click intensive for the runner just to see what's in all the remotes let alone have the cash to trash it.

If you stop checking remotes, corp will score agendas for free. It takes a lot of practice to figure out how to build your board while adequately checking remotes and dealing with assets. If you focus too much on remotes and don't pressure centrals/score agendas, the corp will eventually score an astro with a biotic labor. The game can get away from you fast once an astro gets scored.

The corp can get away with so few ice with NEH's draw ability.
