Valencia Lock - 4th Place CT Regionals

This deck beats everything...except IG. I put 0 effort into learning the MU. My hope was to cross my fingers and dodge it. Of course, I ran into @mediohxcore in top 8 and got steamrolled. It was my only runner loss on the day.

This deck is mean and it is a slog to play against.

NEH - Clot/Remote lock early turns into Vamp Keyhole late.

Palana - Probably the decks easiest win. If they can rush an early nisei, they have a shot. If not, they have 0 chance.

Two examples

ETF - It is difficult for them to score GFI because of Plop/Blackmail (And if they score it early, there is always Turntable). Generally they can NA themselves to 6 points but I will outmoney them late in the game and be able to vamp/keyhole lock them.

I purposely overteched for everything that was not IG. There are definitely some flex slots that you can adjust. Adding a third Scrubber and Slums is probably necessary. If the corp trashes Slums with Elizabeth Mills, you get your BP back and blackmail becomes relevant again. Mediohxcore also recommended rebirth when it arrives. Turning into whizzard with BP and scrubbers will be amazing.

This looks super cool and interesting, can't say I've seen anything like it before. But I have a couple questions. First of all, what is your win condition? You remote lock them and then eventually you get to Vamp, but with only 1 Keyhole I doubt you can really see it reliably, and with no Same Old Things it's hard to keep Blackmail recursion going. Also, what would be your recommended changes (you mentioned adding rebirth and Slums, what would you take out?). And finally, what is your main target for clone chip? It seems like you only have a couple programs, and with no sucker, instant Parasite doesn't really work.

This deck is interestingness and been proven good, I just don't understand some of it. Congratulations on your finish!

  1. The deck is so good at forcing a stalemate, that you can actually cycle through most of your deck and find your keyhole. You can also think of your Vamps as your 4th and 5th Blackmail (and Deja Vu as your 6th) because it allows a free remote access. Agendas tend to pile up in HQ while the Corp is trying to deal with your lock so single access HQ runs can be effective.

  2. I am undecided between a Parasite/Plop for Rebirth. I will probably cut the Councilman for a 3rd Scrubber. I am still undecided about including Slums.

  3. Clone Chip is what makes Inject playable, and is utilized for different things based on your MU. Against NEH, it is primarily for Clot. Against everything else, it is for Parasite and D4V1D. The ability to instant parasite is not necessary for the success of this deck. Generally, you want to parasite ice on HQ while maintaining a Blackmail threat on the remote.
