IG - Horizontal Death

This deck won me 1st place at the Standish, ME SC. Did mediocre in swiss but really hit its stride when we got into eliminations. This is likely because I messed the deck up and thought Recruiting Trip could get Caprice Nisei back after I shuffled her back into R&D with Museum of History. That is not the case and I had two blank cards in the deck the whole day. Building decks the morning before an SC can lead to some mistakes!

Recruiting Trip should immediately be cut for probably another Hokusai Grid and a Neural EMP. I'd also want to find a deck slot for another Tech Startup because that card did work all day long. Its amazing with Turtlebacks, which is the real base for your economy, and can get you Contract Killer for the win if they have 1 or 0 cards. Most often I played it as a basic never advance with PAD Factory advancing everything to make it look dangerous. Play fast and confident and the runner will have no idea what to do.

Worst match up is probably Whizzard but once you get Hostile Infrastructure going it doesn't matter as much who they are. Film Critics can be painful but thats your second use for Contract Killer.

This deck is a variation on the Archive the Impossible deck: http://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/32993/archive-the-impossible

How'd you play with Caprice Nisei? You installed her in a scoring server and then put Excalibur in front of her?

She goes on archives with Excalibur over her. I never put an ice over a remote, not once. You actively do not want to score or see your agenda. Its all kill all the time. Mother Goddess is going on HQ. You can defend R&D with just Hokusai.

Depends on what you have out. Those are both good targets but I found I went most for PAD Factory. PAD Factory does insane work saving money and making everything look lethal. Early game I might get a Turtleback out if I haven't seen any. The Tech Startup for Contract Killer is a great kill combo or a Kati/Film Critic hate. I got a Ronin once when I already had 3 Hostile Infrastructure rez'd plus a few cards in archives. I advanced it 3 times with PAD Factory and just let the runner choose which bad decision they wanted to make.

Thanks for all your insights. I've been playing around with similar builds so getting to pick your brain is useful.

No problem! It's an incredibly fun deck to play, that actually plays very quickly which is great for a tournament setting. Once Bio-Ethics Association comes out I honestly think its only weakness will be variance.

What is Recruiting Trip for?

Recruiting Trip was a mistake. Its not in the deck anymore but I keep the list as is because its what I won the store champs with. The idea was to be able to shuffle back in a sysop with Museum of History and then instantly tutor for them. Problem is Caprice is not a sysop like I thought she was. So two card slots were wasted the entire tournament. I suppose that shows just how strong the rest of the cards are though.

You could exchange Caprice for Tori Hanzō and then it would work.

What do you plan to pull for Bio-Ethics Association? Is it crazy that I'm thinking about Snare!?

From the main list here (without the suggested edits above) I would take out the useless 2x Recruiting Trip and then probably Chairman Hiro or 1 Mushin No Shin. This list is different from Archive the Impossible in that it doesn't go for the 3x Psychic Field and 3x Neural EMP so I think the Hiro combo is a little less effective without EMPs. If you like Hiro (bring them down to 3 cards/take at least 1 with Bio, and then your ronin kill is live, seems good) then take out the Mushin. Your trap engine is more "advance everything with a PAD Factory" then "whats that 3 advanced card." If people are smart playing this deck they'll figure out you are never going to Mushin an agenda so its either going to be a ronin that kills them or a trap. In my opinion that makes the card a little less effective. With PAD Factory I had someone lose because they ran a slowly advancing Jackson because they were convinced it was the ronin, but I had already advanced the Ronin long before and it was set for the kill. For the love of god don't take out the Snares!

Rickymags, I'm pretty new to the game and wanted to try your deck as my first Jinteki deck. So I take out and bring in: - 2x Recruiting Trip - 1 Mushin No Shin (or all) + 3x Psychic Field and 3x Neural EMP + What did you mean with 1 Bio?

Bio-Ethics Association is a card just released on Thursday. Seems like a natural fit into this deck.

@FunkeXMix At the very least I would do -2 Recruiting Trip, -1 Mushin No Shin for +3 Bio-Ethics Association when you get that card. Bio Ethics is kind of acting like a Neural EMP so I don't think you'd really need them. Finding a way to add another Psychic Field would be nice though. If you don't have Bio Ethics then take out the Recruiting Trips for another Psychic Field and 1 Neural EMP but I think Bio Ethics will be a champion in this deck.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up.
