Being The Master Gamer

I have been playing a version of this deck since June of 2015. It started as Noise and evolved into Whizzard after Worlds.

Let's get this out of the way: Whizzard is good right now. Real good.

Faust/Wyldside/Chronotype are also very, very good. This deck does not run those cards. And I am not just being stubborn.

The response to Faust in my meta has been strong. A lot of the usual counters exist but some interesting developments have taken place such as 2 Ice IG decks and Medtech Rush. These decks are very successful right now.

Cards (put cards in your deck, they are good)

Much of the deck is pretty straight forward so I will focus on a few interesting things here.

Clot is VERY important right now. Glacier builds are hurting right now vs Faust which makes NBN strong. There is certainly less play than you have in Shaper with SMC but Street Peddler helps A LOT here. It is a constant threat to a FA player and I often have a way to go get it (Peddler->Clone Chip->Clot or Peddler->Peddler->Clot).

Street Peddler is nuts. I would love to play more events but I just can't give it up. Like with Clot, they have to wonder if you have a D4v1d hanging out on the Peddler before they rez Little Engine.

Atman is a big player here. It isn't super easy to find but you can build up to big plays with the strong econ this deck has and Atman. Most of these plays involve a remote server or Medium.

The Baby has been in every runner deck I have played since it was released. I REALLY like a diverse, smooth economy in my decks. I have The Baby for slow drip, Daily Casts, Kati Jones, and Sure Gamble for mid level econ, and then Liberated Account for when my econ is built up enough. This package really works for my play style and the Corps I am facing.

Surge was Plascrete Carapace until the night before the tournament. Mostly due to Wyldside draw, I just wasn't seeing kill decks in the cut at recent Store Championships. This was a great call. Surge killed a Data Raven in Swiss and got me a turn 1 score after Medium->Run->Surge->Run. I'm not sure this slot wouldn't be better as something else (especially with Street Peddler making me want to lower my Event density) but it did the job.

Simplicity

Overall this is a very moderate deck. Nothing too exciting or flashy. Just the kind of deck I love playing. It is very fluid and has no real weaknesses. It also won't win games for you. It is a dumb tool box.

Over 3 Store Championships with this deck, I went undefeated in Swiss and lost 2 games in the cut. You don't need Faust. Faust is a fad.
