Tasty Fish v1.1 (Burnley 2016 Store champ 1st Place)

Poison, Poison, Tastyfish

A modification of a modification of Fugu v1.2 I took to Burnley store champs.

I should preface this by saying it was a tiny tournament of only 12 people, 4 rounds of swiss and no cut.

The general idea is to drop the runner with several bad decisions, each of which will either give you a scoring window, set up to flip and kill the runner with The Brewery, or set up a kill with scorched earth. As a backup plan the deck can fall into a "Thousand Cuts" style with good reads.

Win conditions:

  1. Score False Lead, trick the runner into a Psychic Field, flip The Brewery

  2. Score False Lead, trick the runner into hitting a Snare! Flip The Brewery / Scorched Earth

  3. Let the runner not worry about Jinteki's scary Snare! tag and Scorched Earth them.

  4. Cerebral cast into a tag and scorch the runner

  5. Cerebral Overwriter for 4 (pretending to be a Ronin), flip The Brewery

  6. Recycled Cerebral Casts for brain damage, into an eventual Ronin or Brewery

  7. Many crazy shenanigans involving double false lead, (Getting siphoned to 0, gaining 3, 2x False Lead into a scorch is a personal favorite)

  8. Score out naked The Future Perfects, Chronos Projects, Braintrusts and Fetal AIs because the runner is too scared of dying.

General tips:

-Mushin-ing an agenda turn 1 is a valid strategy. "Surely nobody is crazy enough to mushin The Future Perfect on turn 1" you'll hear the runner cry.

-Chuck an agenda under a Shell Corp, and drop some money on it. Very few people will risk that Psychic field to find your 1 point chronos project under it (or if you're feeling risky, a 3 point TFP)

-If you really want the runner to hit a Psychic Field, Junebug, or Overwriter, Advance it to 4 (if available) and drop a Himitsu-Bako infront of it. In a deck with only 1 end the run ice, this is too juicy for many newer runners to pass up.

-Mushin works on Snare! Shock! and Psychic Field, make it a juicy target.

-Heritage Committee can be used to drop an Agenda back on top of the deck to be shuffled in with Jackson or Museum providing you proc them before you draw.

I am not good at writeups.

but you are an evil genius.

Congrats!

Is the increased deck size and museum worth it?

Thinking mainly of whizzard lazily spending a click to remove it. Granted it will get one card shuffled in at least.

It would mean 3 MoH, a 2-pointer and one more card will go. It sounds leaner, but perhapse the MoH is quite integral to your deck strategy?

@Warpstoned it wasn't integral at the time, honestly it was a last minute addition with the Heritage and Braintrust.

Against whizzard expect it to do nothing, but i'm all for spending 1 click and 1 credit to shuffle atleast 1 used snare, mushin, overwriter, junebug, ronin or even hedgefund back into the deck. it really helps against R&D lock.

It also combos with Heritage quite nicely, allowing you to pop a card on the top (possibly an agenda pretending to be a snare) and then shuffle it in before you draw your next card.

Always happy to see this kind of thing do well. Museum's a nice touch. Props.
