Re-Engineered 3.0 (Iserlohn (GER) Warehousegames SC 1st)

spore 44

This deck has come a long way of iterations. I started playing around this deck in Autumn last year and played a competitive version in the Euregio 4 (netting 2 of 4 wins). In January this year I played another iteration on the SC in Düsseldorf, that you can find here (netting 4 of 5 wins, 2 time wins), you can find it here but it's pre-MWL: http://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/30748/re-engineered-2-0

The version 3.0 is a long and intensely tested, optimized and probably final version at the state of Data & Destiny with the MWL applied. Recent changes were mostly meta calls.

But let us start at the core idea of this deck. I wanted to create a deck with a very high recursion factor both for ICE, assets and upgrades and HB is the perfect corporation in this regard, with decently cheap and reliant ICE (most profoundly those underrated NEXT Run Stoppers), sexy drip economy in form of Adonis and Eve Campaigns (which actually pour like crazy if you have 2 or more rezzed from mid to endgame and a few upgrades supporting a perfect environment (Breaker Bay Grid is so lovely to kickstart your Campaigns). With the recent addition of Team Sponsorship and Crick came some very interesting new tools to the one-time useable Jackson Howard. With enough of these on the board your campaigns, parasited ICE and other installable cards are basically never-ending. Installing a fresh Breaker-Campaign server with one ICE through a scored Pet Project and (re)installing some ICE on your central servers is so huge. Dropped non-ICE through a fired ABT? It’s back. Always protect these Sponsorships with a nasty ICE like NET Silver, Bronze, Eli or maybe even a Turing (one is enough). They don’t run your assets any more? – Install stacks of NEXT Silver on HQ/R&D and look how fast Lady counters, Faust cards and other currencies fall. Want the Biotic Labor back? – Well there are two of them in the deck but in some cases it’s nice to use them more often. An overadvanced Vitruvius and in some cases good old Jackson are very helpful. Crick is just perfect on Archives (and please don’t put it anywhere else) making any attempt to sneak in or pump up Datasuckers so costly, they won’t run there again but it will still probably fire once at least. It’s three influence spent very well IMHO. Same goes of course for Architect.

Besides the 6+1 NEXT ICE, Turing is a great remote ICE, same goes for a suprising Heimdall 2.0. Just put the big boy somewhere the Runner wants to go and rez it in the right moment, you will have the money in most games. Ichi is something I just started working with and I probably underrated it too long. I added them in the deck after excluding Tollbooth and 2 Assasins.

The Agendas are pretty set. ABT for free ICE and maybe Team Sponsorship fodder, Project Vitruvius as a 3/2 and sometimes recursor for needed cards from Archives. The Pet Project is also a pretty need way if you need a comeback in games or increase your advantage against the Runner. Global Food Initiative is to good to have it not in a deck like this, reducing the Agenda density to 1/5th of the deck.

Crisium Grid and Cyberdex Virus Suite are just recent meta calls. We had a lot of MaxX players with those “Phun ends here” decks (I played one myself) and similar decks. Sweet side effect: An unrezzed upgrade and unrezzed ICE on a Central with some rezzed NEXT ICE probably implies Gold+Batty to some Runners.

As much as this deck looks like control on the first sight to the Runner, it takes up speed very fast and you can play it pretty aggressive in most games. If you think, that the Runner might be able to get into your (hopefully tall) scoring remote next turn, install some asset or upgrade. Most will run and set themselves back by 2 turns. Then you will score. It is also possible to sneak an Agenda through one of the campaign servers, if the Runner has given up on trashing those. But I won’t advice that ;-)

I had a lot of fun playing this deck and re-building the Re-Engineering deck is easy enough. If your meta does not play that many Account Siphons then you should exclude the Crisium Grids and add a Tollbooth or something. They trash your assets? – Product Placement was actually very funny on the campaign servers.
