Brain Scraping Snarehouse

MTUCache 59

Definitely not a Tier 1 deck, and probably not very consistent, but something that I hope is a ton of fun to play and can be really tough to beat when it gets a good draw.

Obviously the idea here is to BER/Oversight/Howler huge ice over R&D and a scoring remote, and to force the Runner into taxing themselves going through as many times as possible. HQ doesnt really need much protection (other than against Siphon obv), since the deck is primarily ice, events, and a couple Snares. Anything else you draw can pretty much be immediatly installed.

Ideally their first few taxing runs would be into your Adonis's, Tommy, or even an Overwriter, triggering Knight as well, but even losing the first 5/3 isn't terrible since they need to score 3 to your 2 (assuming you find either your Sleepers or Offer).

The dream is of course getting the Runner to fall for the first turn Offer (on 1 credit) into your Howler/Janus, but I can't imagine that working more than once in a lifetime.

Basically, if they've got a TON of money and clicks, they could keep ahead of your ice by trashing and derezzing, but otherwise they're either letting Brain subs fire or they're doing nothing but clicking through for a handful of accesses onto a thin agenda density deck, not building their rig, and hopefully opening up scoring windows for you to push through your 5/3s.

Increased hand size pretty much nerfs this deck as well, but otherwise its a race to see if they can score 3 agendas before they take 5 brain damage.

Other cards considered... Hmm... Whirlpool? Awakening Center, Tyr's Hand, Eliza's Toybox. Batty instead of Offer? Architect and Turing seem obvious, but don't really fit in this 44 deck size. Archived Memories, since so many of these huge bioroid end up losing their Oversight.

Anyway... Thoughts? I have a feeling this will be a really fun deck to play, as long as I'm not left clicking for credits all day. Plus, even against good meta-ready Runner decks, with the right opening hand this deck will force them to play a game they're not tuned for.

You get a like from me for the awesome deck name first and foremost :)

Looks like a fun deck, i might give this a shot at the pub. Cheers!

@Angedelo, thanks, I do feel a bit too much satisfaction with the name, since the inspiration for it isn't even in the deck. :p

Honestly, this one might be a hoot in like 10% of its games, and a total stinker in 30%. I think I'm going to have to make a 2.0 version with some more money, mid-range ice, and losing some of the tricks.

Glad you like! Here's to those players who bow to the Great Wotan!

Why isn't it called "Wotan Clan Ain't Nothin' To F*ck With"?

@oliproud, you, sir, are a genius, and I since I was already in the middle of an edit which was removing the Snares anyway, the new version of the deck (found here: netrunnerdb.com ) will proudly feature your excellent name (and give credit where it is due). Thanks!
