Can't Stop the Signal

WHAAAT RESTRUCTURED DATAPOOL I know I know just hear me out you guys.

So Media Blitz is the backbone of this deck, but wait - NBN doesn't really have any agendas with constant effects, right? Except for Restructured Datapool. So here's my attempt to make this unlovely 5/3 worth a damn.

So as you've probably guessed, the gameplan goes: get a Media Blitz in hand or in the bin, start advancing a Datapool, let them steal it like the suckers they are, use New Angeles Sol to bust in the Blitz, blow up their house.

While you're setting up, Predictive Algorithm, NAPD Contract, Pop-up Window and Turnpike are all essentially obnoxious credit-drainers, helping you to drive the wedge you'll need to fire a tag. Midseason Replacements is there as a failsafe, though it might be better to slot something else in.

I have considered Primary Transmission Dish, but I wasn't sure if it was worth it. It's a lot of creds to go toward tagging them (at least) once a turn once Datapool/Blitz are out, but it's also pretty cheap for them to just trash. Might be worth a try though.

So does it work? I dunno. No idea. Just wanted to give NBN's sole 5/3 a chance to shine.

I would definitely reconsider Primary Transmission Dish. Sunny (or anyone else using cloud breakers) starts off with 2 link, and even if they aren't, a number of popular runners have 1 link anyway. This means that the base strength on the Restructured Datapool is simply not going to be enough.

I know this is probably too janky, but have you considered Private Security Force in place of the Explode-a-palooza or NAPD Contract? Film Critic makes these effectively blank anyway, but with a scored PSF and a scored or Blitz'd Datapool you can start to grind them down pretty fast.

I've run something pretty similar to this for a couple of games and it did OK. The essential idea is the same, but I'm more doubled down on it; I don't have Midseasons. I'm running primary transmission dish and it's done some work, but the cheap trash cost is a little vexing, so business shows might turn out to be better.

I'm not currently running News Teams, but I probably should be. I've got a few more ice than you and I think I could cut down to make room. I'm also not running traffic accident. I spent my spare three influence on two Eli 1.0s and a Global Food Initiative. I'm happy with that difference, I think those cards do good work.

I've got an All-Seeing I at the moment, but I think I might prefer a second Closed Accounts for consistency. That card has done good work for me. I've been happy just trashing my opponents best resources the regular way.
