PowerlessCube's: Hadrian's Wall Tourney Express (20ish/54)

PowerlessCube 283

A modified version of "Money for Running and Clicks for Free v3 (4th, BABW Leeds)" by NRDB user Chappers.

I'm relatively new to Netrunner and this was my first attempt at something (relatively) competitive. The main aim is really aggressive running early game to generate credits via SecTest/Desperado and a few well placed Dirty laundries, snagging agendas where possible with a few placed legworks/Maker's Eye.

As the late game develops, those centrals become much harder to crack - Kati Jones and stimhack to make those do or die runs. You burn through the deck fast, so being able to Levy is an essential addition to revitalize the deck.

You're never short on money with this deck and the interaction between central runs with data sucker/SecTest/Desperado just oozes efficiency.

I had a lot of fun piloting this deck, I hope you do too.

Hello, I was one of the people running the event (not Seamus; I was the one doing all the actual work...). Thank you so much for coming down! Really great day was had by all here, and I think you were the only Ken player on the day. Anything you'd change in the deck looking back at how you did?

Hey (Pete?)! Thanks for putting it on. It was an excellent event and I'm looking forward to the Inter-city tournament in January.

Not really sure - a well placed purge of the Datasucker Virus counters can cause an awkward situation where I can't break strength 4 sentries if no faeries are on the board. I had one game where my breakers were torn to ribbons by a combination of overly zealous runs on R&D and some grail ice. I fluked the win by playing the levy which brought Zu & Corroder back into my grip.

I sometimes question whether Career fair is worth it with only 2 Daily Casts/Earth Rise in my grip. I mean it's great when they show up but some times I find my self holding onto longer than needed.

Yes, Peter here :D

I was running career fair for ages in my supplier andy deck and it was absolutely singing in that. The question here is could you drop them for two sure gambles? Are the times when you have 5 creds more or less frequent than the times you have a 3 cost resource ready to go? I'd say that must be true, so a straight swap over to them sounds reasonable.

Glad you enjoyed building on my deck - I may well see you at the inter-city, too (we're still deciding on the Leeds team so not sure yet).

Program destruction is the bane of any criminal deck, and this build is especially vulnerable as it doesn't have any recursion at all - a later version I played at a GNK had a Deja Vu in it, which really paid off in almost every game.

How did you find the Mimic/Faerie suite vs. my approach with Femme and Passport?

For what it's worth, I only really included Career Fair to enable Earthrise to be played early in the game without a loss of tempo; later in the game it's often a dead draw but I felt the tradeoff was worth it. I'm not sure I'd include it if I were only playing 2 Daily Casts and 2 Earthrise Hotel.

My approach was to ensure constant card draw - just churn through the deck quickly, to fuel aggressive central pressure, and damn any other consequences!

Anyway, glad you had fun with it!
