Flatline Cybenetics v4.0

TheLastPaladin 26

After playing this deck through, I've made some changes from the previous build.

Added Jackson, cuz, local meta requires it. Added 2 Biotic Labor and dropped Successful Demonstration (was always a dead card, Biotic would be stronger).

Dropped Accelerated Beta Tests and added Mandatory Upgrades. You want the runner to try to run, so using Mandatory Upgrades to force that run is very strong.

I want to find a way to add Defective Brainchips, but I'm unsure where it fits.

You are very very light on economy - How are you affording to rez ice like Ichi 2.0? Or install enough ice to make Valley Grid work?

Also, what agendas do you generally forfeit to rez Enforcer?

I normally ditch Vitruvius after I've burned the agenda counter (usually to get a Adonis Campaign or Hedge Fund back). With such a small deck size, I haven't experienced any financial issues (Adonis and recycling Hedge Funds/GLCs)

I'd ditch Chairman Hiro, since as a 1-off with no tutor, he's hard to land the combo with. I'd replace him with 2x Edge of World, since that also combos with the same deep servers that Valley Grid needs. While Valley Grid requires ICE to be rezzed (and all subroutines be broken), Edge of World does not.

I'd focus on Valley Grid with some cheap binary ICE (think Quandary, Guard, Rototurret, and Viktor 1.0). You need ICE that the runner is has to break all the subs on, and should be cheap to rez, since you'll be paying to install a 2nd and 3rd piece of ICE on your Valley Grid.

You named this deck a flatline deck, but you included 2x Biotic Labor. There is no rule that you can't biotic in a flatline deck, but I think these slots may be better used as you start to make adjustments. Basically, you want to make a scoring remote that the runner 'must run.' Not running may let you 3-advance and score on your next turn, scoring a Self-Destruct Chips bringing the runner closer to flatline. Running an unadvanced server can also force them onto a Edge of World that might be the flatline too. If you want to further increase the pressure on the runner to run that server, consider adding Team Sponsorship, since that can recur you asset economy, or even build your scoring server deeper (eventually lethally deep with Valley Grid). In short, I think you need to leave a face-down card in your scoring server that can be your next agenda, not fast-advance from HQ.

I don't like Zed 1.0 or Enforcer 1.0. Enforcer 1.0 is easy to not break all subs on, since the runenr may not have a console or virtual resources, which sidesteps Valley Grid. Zed 1.0 may get lucky and score some early brain damage, but I think Ryon Knight is a more reliable means to that end, with similar requirements. I think Viktor 2.0 is ok, but not necessarily better than Viktor 1.0 given the extra cost. If you're building deep and going for the flatline, it doesn't matter if the runner uses Yog.0, the main cost is in the Valley Grid.

I don't know if you need the card draw from Green Level Clearance, or if you may be better served with Eve Campaign, particularly if you do add Team Sponsorship; PAD Campaign is always a good option to consider for asset economy.

Finally, I love Mandatory Upgrades, but I do think Accelerated Beta Test is a better fit if you do go with Edge of World. If you love Mandatory Upgrades as much as I do, then you'll try Cerebral Overwriter instead. Maybe even both!

`@bubbathegoat' Wow! That's some great feedback. Thanks, I'm going to make some adjustments and try testing it.

@TheLastPaladin I know I picked at a lot of things, but I really like what you're doing with this deck and I think I want to try a version of it out myself!

@bubbathegoatI want to add a Cerebral Overwriter and really make the Runner's life awful. It's a great answer to some of those runners like Noise or Chaos.
