Ol'Batty is gamblin' with Nisei

D4KEN 136

This deck is an attempt to play another ID then RP. I love the concept with the psi games and with Marcus Betty and Cerebral Cast there are fun plays possible. Even an early Cortex Lock + Marcus Batty Combo can make the runner insane.

I thing it's pretty solid, the ice isn't that expensive but does his work to stop/tax the runner. Playing the Cerebral Cast as often as possible can stress the runner too.

This is definitely better. You now have some nice targets for Marcus Batty, and Scorched Earth gives you a great back-up plan when needed. The Runner may be tempted to take a brain damage with Cerebral Cast, especially if the know you're running scorch, so how about Defective Brainchips as a small influence splash to try out in a future build? It would synergise well with Viktor 1.0, making a Markus Batty on Victor's brain damage a double-threat, and give them serious issues about a successful Cerebral Cast - "Ok, I won the PSI game, so do you take a tag, or 2 brain damage?"

If you're running Snare! and have a Scorched Earth at hand, you may want to consider Kitsune. She has been instrumental in helping me nail a Snare! out of nowhere on their final click, landing a tag, and then finishing up with a Scorch.

Hope it goes well for you!

Oh, PS - When you vary the deck up, make sure you try Psychic Field - another PSI game that triggers on Exposure, which will greatly freak anyone waving their Drive Bys about ;)

@Mechanoise i had an Kitsune in, but cutted it for the 3rd Cerebral Cast. I like the idea with the Defective Brainchips but don't know how to implement in an effective way at the moment. Maybe i give it a try later ;). Thx for your feedback so far ...

I tested it with Batty (after playing my Nationals 2nd place Nisei deck) and I found the same problem as with other Jinteki decks. Too many easy-to-trash cards. Batty is too much I'd say in there. If you really want to be able to stop a run, just play the new Jinteki operation that lets you get a sysop, so that you can get your Caprice out faster. There is no need for Batty, no more than x1 at least. And Melange slows down your game a lot and is easy to trash. I would also play x2 Excalibur since you play so many psi game upgrades. Silly not to run at least x2 I'd say. Snowflake is bad and it should feel bad. I've tested it for 3 months straight and any kind of runner finds a way around it. If they don't pay for it and they actually play the psi game, you'll just end up not gaining any credits, or just gaining one and allowing them access. It's like a slightly harder to go through pop-up window. Ain't that amazing.

Just my 2 cents though, maybe you like Snowflake, the rest though, I'd say it won't work in a good meta if you keep it like that. Also, x6 operation cards and x2 Melange seems too much, I would do pads or something else + x2 Celeb. + x3 Hedge fund or x3 Celeb. + x2 Hedge Fund.

@Kelfecil my strategie is to play with only one remote with Marcus Batty and Viktor 1.0 i force the runner to take the braindamage, i tweaked it a bit +1 Interns,+1 Chum,+2 Architect,+1 Marcus Batty,−1 Snare!,−1 Scorched Earth,−1 Melange Mining Corp.,−1 Yagura,−1 Komainu
