Noise Sauce 5.0 - 1st Place - ANRPC - Days of Knights

CodeMarvelous 20001

So this is the Noise I played to 5-0 at the MAC qualifier for the pro circuit at Days of knights.

Street Peddler is pretty great, Faust is great.

Really noise is in a good place. two of the games I never saw wyldside and was still able to maintain control of the game.

Install viruses and use duplicates to make runs with fault. Pawn and repeat.

NOISE BOYS!

Oh absolutely. I saw your list and it was the execution of what I wanted to do for a while

Congrats on the win, and big ups to a fellow noise bro! Couple questions from an aspiring Noise player:

  1. How did you like the second mimic? I too abhor architect and am considering getting a second killer…
  2. What's your experience been with a nerve agent instead of the second medium? I've toyed with that and am not sure how I feel.
  3. How much better do you think wyldcakes is than other draw options for Noise?

Mimic is good but i never felt like I needed two. Nerve agent takes people by surprise and gets me wins. pancakes is the awesome sauce as I mention here

So, why street peddler over inject?

I know it's a good card, but why is it better than inject?

@mcpba the element of surprise, the freedom of timing, the discount and the fact that it reveals no information of whats coming to the corp.

You and RedScharlach both cut IHW. Isn't this kinda risky? Last tournament I played against two butchershops and one Blue Sun scorch deck. In the same tournament, a noise without IHW got to place 1. I really have no idea how you guys are not getting blown up all the time.

Also, noone is playing clot? Fastrobiotics is not that popular anymore, but playing one copy has been worth it so far.

@mcpba I think you'll be able to get an economic edge a reasonable percentage of the time, since Imp counters their strategy of taxing you with assets, and you actually make quite a bit of money once you're set up. But Butchershop is really unpopular out here, so I don't have a ton of experience with the matchup; if it's causing problems, I think either IHW or Plascrete would be viable adds.

I haven't played this much vs. Fastro, either - the last version of this deck had Turntable, which I don't recommend, but it made Clot pretty unnecessary. I suspect it would be a decent matchup; Imp, Lamprey, and Medium are winners, and the breaker suite is quite well-tuned against the typical Fastro ice composition.

I'd have to see a lot more Fastro, and struggle pretty hard with it, before I'd put Clot in; it's such a disappointing card to see vs. any other corp, and you've only got a 50% chance to see it when you do get the matchup.

I am almost never poorer than the corp so I don't fear damage. Against Fa I just hammer centrals and mill. Usually even if they score one Astro they have to purge too often to continue the chain

Hm it's pretty hard to outmoney Blue Sun or butchershop if you are having a rough start or need to setup. Also, if you don't find your breakers, you'll be dead as well because they will advance breaking news behind two pieces of ICE or on a sansan and scorch you.

well I'll try to cut clot and IHW and see how it goes. If I lose too often to scorched or fastro, they'll go back in.

@mcpba Now that I think about it, if you're struggling to beat Fastro, a second Medium would also be a strong answer that wouldn't let you down as much in other matchups.
