Parasite spam and Comet... Let's see how it works.

After testing a little, took out some of the cuter 1-ofs because Valencia really wants 3x of everything you can get. Also, the Pancakes Wyldside combo is still super strong in general, and in this deck specifically, because of how badly it wants to draw cards and events.

The only 1-of left is the Levy AR Lab Access, because I only need the one. If it gets killed by damage, Déjà Vu is my only way of getting it back, which is the only reason I would switch back and start running Same Old Thing again

I'm putting this up for comment. I had a thought that I could take out the Parasites to go to the full 3x of the cutlery suite.

Inject is good and bad; It's very good because it gives me 4 cards most of the time for 1 or free if I have a PPvP out. The problem is that I then have to use a bunch of cards or discard them.

The final thing I need opinions on is how to deal with tagging and bagging. I suppose I might be able to out-money them if I can Day Job into a Sure Gamble via Comet...

A hacker after my own heart :D

I think I may have seen you post on my decklist over on BGG, hope I maybe inspired you in some way.

You've done a couple of things I didn't quite have the balls to try, firstly cutting the Wanton (I have scored a bunch of points with Wanton, but it's so tricky to land it well) and secondly adding the Pancakes. I've got a version with Pancakes ready to test at the next game night, glad to hear it's working out well for you. Also love you've gone to three Comet too, the earlier you get it the better.

One thing I don't think I could bear to cut, though, are the Same Old Things... Their ability triggers Comet which helps take the sting out of that extra click (even a SoT Lucky Find isn't too bad if you're chaining it into a Sure Gamble or similar).

I'd also be hesitant to go full Cutlery to be honest, an earlier version of my deck had x3 of all of them and they just clogged my hand up all game. Discarding them early and using either a Planned Assault or Deja Vu/SoT works much better for me (incidentally, how good is Deja Vu in this deck?! You can return a card then play it straight off with Comet, same goes for Levy as well!).

Déjà Vu with Comet is the reason I ultimately did away with Same Old Thing... The Deja route is 1 click -> Event from Heap. Same Old Thing takes THREE clicks to do the same. And then I could get one event from my hand...

My main problem is the fact that with Parasite, I have no good way to speed up Parasite, and have to just wait for it... It's also a card that gets pitched to Inject, and doesn't trigger Comet. That's three reasons to cut it... The main reason I can't bring myself to pull the trigger is that using Deja Vu I can get two of them back.

Yeah, I cut the Wanton because of two reasons: The first is that randomness sometimes helps, sometimes hurts. The second is that I decided that I'm going to HAMMER R&D, and ignore the other centrals, and use Blackmails to get into Remotes. I want to force the corp to put all of their ICE on R&D, and then Cutlery my way through them into the bin. This does leave me with no HQ pressure, which leans me towards including either Imp or Nerve Agent.

And yes, I posted on your BGG topic. :) It did inspire me, because Comet + Blackmail is just ridiculous.

What if I drop the Inject for the Same Old Thing?

Actually, you make a persuasive argument for me dropping Parasite from my deck there too... You can kill 0 str ice with it straight away, and also (eventually) kill Turing, which you otherwise have no way to deal with. That said, I've not once come across a rezzed Turing with this deck...

I like the Wanton as it's brilliant HQ pressure that keeps the corp on their toes; I recently played a Blue Sun player who rezzed a Crisium on RnD and moved it to HQ to prevent me from Wantoning, only for me to drop a Keyhole on my turn and kill him. I like being able to switch target and zap those agendas/combo pieces out of HQ, that flexibility to destroy either of the two main centrals is one of the things I enjoy most.

I guess I like the SoT and Inject here because I really WANT to burn through my whole deck. My version is really humming when I've got Earthrise Hotel up and running, and inject keeps me going when it isn't. But I can see if you are running Pancake style you probably wouldn't have that problem... Hmm.

I'd be tempted to switch around Inject and SoT and see how you do. Personally, I would drop the Cutlery down to one-ofs, but I think you're probably getting more use from them than I do (I've started to use them relatively often as just a run event I can chain onto another event).

I don't think it really belongs here, but Gravedigger might be fun, especially if you switch from Parasite to full cutlery.

I agree with swapping out Inject for Same Old Thing, I think the Wyldside/Adjusted Chronotype combo is enough draw, plus you are recurring events a whole lot anyway.

I'll try -3 Inject +3 Same Old Thing for sure next game night.

Sunday we had some league play and casual testing. I played this deck three times. Lost twice to Midseasons (once to PsychoBeale and once to Traffic Accident into Scorched Earth, dodging my I've Had Worse)

The third time was after I made the changes to Pancakes+Wyldside, and played against a Cybernetics HB deck. He was quite frustrated that I kept eating ALL of his ICE and kept just trashing ICE out of Keyhole runs, because I figured I might just mill him at this point. I won that one with a Blackmail on a remote when he tried to get an Agenda away from my relentless aggression.

In that game, the deck felt like it hummed a lot, and that's the game where I looked hard at the Parasites... In their favor, they killed a Quandary and a Quicksand. Against their favor, when they killed the Quicksand, I could've just Knifed it, too. And would've gotten a comet trigger, and used my PPvP credits... >_>

I've also toyed with the idea of Kraken, because Blackmail, Comet trigger, Kraken, could be REALLY good.

But from the limited testing, I need to have some answer to Midseasons. :/

Thanks for the input, guys!

I managed to beat a midseasons deck by virtue of having a shed load of cash... PpVP with three of all the paid economy events and being liberal with using my recursion on them meant I had cash over 40 creds. Keyhole can be used to trash those operations too, and I think Utopia Shard is a good call (I've got Hades Shard in mine to combo with Keyhole/Wanton). I don't know how reliable any of these strands are, though, especially with how common Murdershop is at the moment.

Also, please please please please put Kraken in. I so want that card to work.

That actually reminds me of why I went with the Wyldside Pancakes combo instead of Earthrise: In my experience, when running an Event-based economy, you need constant card draw. Diesel and Quality Time do it for PPvP Kate, and ProCon sometimes too.

I had a hard time actually GETTING my economy, despite having Dirty Laundry, Sure Gamble, Day Job, and Lucky Find.

I might try taking out a Comet to get the Hades and Utopia shards... The fun part is that I don't necessarily need Hades shard, since I can Blackmail into Archives... ;) Oh. That's why I took it out. Because if I take out Comet for Utopia, I have an influence left and nothing really to use it on. :/ Easy Mark?
