GRNDL - High Steaks (4th Place Detroit GLC Qualifier)

SektOP 85

This deck went 3-2 at the GLC Detroit Qualifier with one loss to a Big Rig Chaos Theory and the other to a timed loss against Noise.

This deck originally started out as a Blue Sun build but I found more success porting it over to GRNDL after 3-4 weeks of testing.

GRNDL shines in what it always has, the ability to threaten SEA Source, Scorched early while also having the flexibility to secure an early 5/3 agenda or an atlas with atleast 1 counter.

When said 5/3 is High Risk Investment the game can immediately take on a very interesting tone as you can maintain that threat for the remainder of the game. Naturally runners have two options. They can not care, rack up cash and run - or try to skirt around the token build and keep their economy low to keep me from reaping profit.

Either of these situations are fine for this deck considering you want to rush 5 points quickly as possible and then bait out taxing runs against GRNDL Refineries, or Shattered Remains until you get a decent scoring window or until you can kill the runner.

Bonus points for bagging net ready eyes with power shutdowns for 0.

Wendeigo is probably one of my favorite pieces of ICE - It might even deserve two slots in this deck as it can tax barrier breaker tokens if you advance it, it re-purposes your inner ice and it plays really well with Archer.

Snares are best kept inside the deck as RnD access is bad for you though - Waiting for the legwork to pop Atlas Tokens is never a bad idea either.

As I stated in my Runner deck, shout out to Matt Wilson for putting on a great event. I placed 4th out of 24 players after 5 rounds swiss - no cut.
