That Dog'll Hunt: Top 16 at UK Nationals

Circadia 2795

Based on nobodyhasthis's store champ winning B-God, with a fair few post-Breaker Bay ice changes to beef up some of the deck's strengths.

It went 6-2 on the day, beating 3 Kates, 1 MaxX, 1 Andromeda and Dave Hoyland's Endless Waltz Leela deck (all wins bar one Kate by flatline). It lost one game vs. Kate in the swiss due to some epic table-talk play by Alex White (vinegarymink), bluffing that he hadn't seen any agendas after an Indexing, only to Maker's Eye for 9 points next turn. It lost to a Andy-sucker deck in the top 16 due to some bad choices on my part and some well-judged R&D digging from my opponent.

This has a strong matchup against Kate as the usual strategy of hammering R&D is costly for them and unprofitable in terms of points. Susanoo and Taurus cause real problems, and Wormhole is a nasty piece of ice in the post Cy-Cy world. Mainly it's through starvation of Lady counters that allows this deck to really punish modern Kate builds. A Hive/Crisium combo on HQ with Off the Grid pretty much guarantees your first agenda score. Meru Matis and Curtain Walls make it worse.

The agenda suite has been re-tooled from B-God to enable scoring out through use of Utopia Fragment, but focuses mainly on the flatline threat of HRI counter -> Punitive -> Punitive.

Snatch and Grab managed to kill a few ProCos and Kati's more than justifying its inclusion. Crick also does work, recycling Adonises and Crisiums that have been trashed, and it enables one of my favourite plays - Crick out a trashed Shattered Remains, and unless the runner runs it, bounce it back to hand next turn, ready to play again!

How did you like High-Risk Investment? Would you change one of it for The Cleaners? Also, how was Taurus for you? How often did you manage to fire it? And how do you deal with the Plascrete Carapaces? Try to bait runs with Shattered Remains or manage some Taurus snipes?
