Boring HBFA (Omaha Regional Winner)

strundle 350

FA is good. Genetically engineered, sexually appealing robots are good. There aren't a lot of surprises in here: just make money and push out agendas.

Push them out behind taxing ice and Ash. Push them out on a SanSan. Push them out with robot labor and piles of cash. If need be, muster all the chutzpah you've got and push them out naked, representing an Eve. Push them out in a house or with a mouse, in a boat or with a goat. Just score four of them before the runner finds four of their own.

Because they will find four eventually -- all you can do here is impose some moderate speed limits on their searching. Outside of Tollbooth, all of your ice are porous even without breakers. You're not going to keep the runner out, you're just going to make them face hard choices. Clicking through an Eli to spend 5 trashing a SanSan is no one's idea of a good time, and it's even less fun when the runner already saw the Archived Memories in HQ and there are 2 Eve Campaigns fueling your next Biotic endeavor. Likewise, you're still going to get Account Siphoned, but Andy's going to have a lot less fun doing it when she has to break through a Tollbooth twice and trash a Crisium before she sees her first 10 credits of "profit."

So this isn't glacier -- you're going to be giving up accesses (and probably some points with them) throughout the game. Get used to it. Then find those agendas, find a way to get them out, and then put those two things together. 7 AP is the finish line, and it doesn't matter how fast Kate's PPVP engine is going when you hit it.

(Note: After Regionals, I would recommend slotting at least 1 -- maybe 2 -- Cyberdex somewhere in here. I didn't lose to Clot all day, despite some matches against very skilled players who included it, but access to this card would have gone a long way to cutting down on the amount of Xanax I needed after closing out matches by playing the "guess where the agenda is" shell game.

Also, Markus is garbage -- there's no denying it -- but so is everything else that goes in this slot. Feel free to swap out for Wall of Static or even Enigma as you see fit.)

Was Chronos Project the right choice for the 1-pointer slot?

Yes. I slotted it in mostly for Maxx, but then didn't play against her all day. Nonetheless, it did plenty of work against PPVP Kate, closing out some key games.

It will never be worth saccing False Lead (unless you were forced to score two of them for some reason), and you don't need the money from Gila Hands. That pretty much leaves Haas' Pet Project, which you could give a shot as a 1 of. I think Chronos would be more useful overall, but it wouldn't hurt to bring back a SanSan/Adonis behind a piece of ice or two.

loved your tourney write up. It's kind of stupid how good plain old "EtF with a bunch of 3/2s" can be, and yet most people don't have the stones to take it to a big tourney, much less win with it.
