RepliKaplan Perfection

Here's some University level math for you: Hayley + Replicator = Awesome.

There's been a lot of talk in the academic circles lately regarding Ms. Kaplan and how best to use her ability, and to the delight of all the scholars out there, there's still no right answer. CodeMarvelous got his P.h.D. in ice destruction and JBen devised a brilliant proof that as time 'x' increases, the power of HK approaches infinity. Both are fun and interesting ways to play Hayley and they certainly further the body of research on the subject.

And today, I posit a new way to pilot The Universal Scholar.

Replicator is perhaps one of the best cards in a Hayley deck, given how well it combos with her ID ability. Slap down a cheap piece of hardware, fetch another, and get it on the table in the same click. This also applies to anything coming off the Personal Workshop, which can act as a two clickless installs (and Replications), and can even trigger on the corp's turn.

So what are we installing? The key pieces we're looking for are our Cyberfeeders and Omni-Drives, because these two cards alone turn our midrange breakers into economic powerhouses for one run a turn. Corroder on Omni-Drive gets through an Eli for free. Gordian Blade on Omni-Drive turns into a 6 str. decoder for a run -- and all of this is delightful for someone like, who has gotten his Masters degree in Transhumanist Studies. And because of this "one inevitable run a turn" mentality, our Interfaces - both R&D and HQ - fit like a glove.

Excepting Femme Fatale, we run a relatively cheap breaker suite, with a complement of midrange hardware, and that means we can get a lot of mileage out of even just one Stimhack. We couple this with Box-E not only to mitigate the brain damage, but because thanks to Hayley's ability, our hand is essentially another Personal Workshop - and the more options, the better.

As this deck moves forward, I'm looking at adding more clickless economy options - be it money in the form Daily Casts or card draw in the form of Earthrise Hotel. Try this out, and let your fellow faculty members know how it works!

this looks good. Do you think there is an opportunity for a stealth deck to be built with her since the pieces install for cheap?

The possibility is certainly there, but having spent so much time with Stealth Kit I've come to really dislike the notion of needing both a breaker and an extra piece (Cloak, Ghost Runner, Lockpick, etc.) to fuel it in order to make a run. What's so nice about Cyberfeeders is that they fill a similar role, but are universally useful.

I played your build the other night and went 3-0 with it. The Jankiness of Haley and replicator is awesome. Destroyers are a non-issue in my meta (and their use seems to be declining globally) so I dropped Sharpshooter. I also Dropped HQ Interface. Replacing them with parasite and R&D interface. Stupid 0 strength ice gave me a problem, and I like 3 of hardware to get the full use of replicator. Kudos on a great build?

@kjnclGlad you like it so far! I have made a few tweaks since this build: -2 Omni-Drive, +2 Earthrise Hotel, and I put in one more Clone Chip at the expense of an SMC. I'm still working to determine whether Corroder has earned its spot over Lady, because like you said, Parasite is just fantastic. Keep experimenting and let's see what happens!

Really like the Cyberfeeders, and the Omni-Drives. I agree that the drives probably need to be dropped, but I still want to see the deck in which they work. I've modified my stealth Hayley Kaplan: Universal Scholar deck to include Cyberfeeders. Overkill? Likely.
