Trash TV v0.1

Shiiuga 1266

This is a proof of concept decklist for my Haarpsichord idea. I flipped out when I saw the ID like I did when I saw Titan Transnational: Investing In Your Future so undoubtedly this deck will stink just as hard as my Titan constellation deck, But no-one else seems to have put this up on NRDB yet so here goes:

The idea is that everything that you draw up pretty quick, then all your agendas go straight in the bin. The second you draw them. Don't even wait until the end of your turn if possible. That is what Reuse is for. Handful of agendas? No problem! Fast Track agendas in to your hand then Reuse them all for some quick $$$ and then the runner can only grab one a turn anyway.

Once they are all in the can, you make running on Archives a pain. NAPD Contract is expensive to steal, Explode-a-palooza gives you a bunch of money, Award Bait lets you advance stuff! There's a Shock! and a Cyberdex Virus Suite for added on access effects.

Red Herrings and Predictive Algorithm can make the steal that much harder, and mean the runner wastes an extra click on getting in to Archives in order to trash Red Herrings, during which they get hit with all the on-access effects again.

Architect is in so that the runner can do all your work for you. Put it in front of Archives and install a Project Beale as they wander through. Then when they get in, quadruple advance that Beale thanks to Award Bait, triple advance next turn to score it for 4 points. Port Anson Grid stops them from jacking out (mostly) and just running on your new Beale server.

Bastion and Chimera are in there in case you need to stop the runner snooping about another central before you can get your agendas out and in the trash. Susanoo-No-Mikoto is a cheeky surprise for if they do decide to trash a program to beat Port Anson. They thought it would be a Pop-up Window, but they're straight back to Archives.

Excalibur will also help you out in this sense as well by making it impossible for the runner to run again if they jack out and run again if they've been hit by an Excalibur.

Lag Time makes Architect and Susanoo a bit tougher to beat if you need to.

This is absolutely my first crack at this and it will need a lot of refining, which sadly I can't do much of until nearer the time. There are several ways you could take this, perhaps by using Interns instead of Architect, by dropping Port Anson for more Shock!s. Maybe Susanoo goes for 3 Pups or some other taxing ICE (not NBN's strong point after all).

Perhaps it will go in more of a tagstorm direction so that the runner accumulates a load of tags on the run on Archives, then you Interns out a Beale and Psychographics it for a mega-advance. Who knows at this stage?

I'd welcome any thoughts on the idea. This is absolutely a first build. I really like the concept of making it obvious where all the agendas are, and letting the runner just run the gauntlet every time they want to steal anything.

The deck is super weak against Archives Interface, though I've not seen that getting a lot of play so far which is surprising. I think my main concern is that the runs get less taxing as the game goes on and the agendas disappear from Archives, so I gotta think up a way to mitigate that.

Anyway, thoughts welcome.

I don't know if this will work at all. I love it!

Have you considered Space Camp? Or maybe even Crick instead of Susanoo?

That's it! It could go either way!

Space Camp was in there but didn't make the cut as Award Bait was already doing the same thing in faction. It might replace Reuse in a later build though depending on if that works out.

Crick is a masterstroke, though. I hadn't thought about that, but I might take out the two Architects for it rather than Susanoo.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one in action - I find it hard to picture but I think there's a possible technique here. What happens if the runner resolutely doesn't run archives?

What happens when the runner just doesn't run archives? What if they just focus on any remotes you put down?

Well that's where all the agendas will be, so hopefully they will have to start running Archives if they want to win. Of course they could let me deck myself but that wouldn't make for a very fun game of Netrunner.

It is a concern, though, and the idea is to make it so that it's painful for them to get an agenda but not super painful. I might take out the Shock! and replace it with a couple of Space Camp so that it's more about what I gain, rather than what they lose, which might hopefully make running the gauntlet a bit more palatable.

I might try a couple of Bullfrogs in there as well so if they start running elsewhere I can just direct them to archives instea.

I think Midseasons is the best route for the archives/agenda bait style, but it remains to be seen.

@moistloaf midseasons is a great card generally, but why do you think specifically here?

Kitsune is a very powerful card here. I think putting tons of stuff into Archives is a Red Herring for this ID.

If I played vs. your deck, and saw you pitching tons of cards into Archives... I'd just not run it. You aren't IG, so your trash isnt powering you up somehow. You still to have to score, and that can only be done with installed agendas.

Midseasons is a neat threat and synergizes well with Explode-a-palooza

It's too bad The Board is out of the question.

Crick for Architect and Space Camp for Shock! seems like the right call.

Wormhole is unexpected, would give you more advancement targets and synergizes well with Susanoo-No-Mikoto and Excalibur.

Really the main issue I see is that you don't seem to have a solid win condition. Psychographics to Project Beale is definitely a promising combo here and I think you can find the slots for it.

I also worry a little about your economy. Shell Corporation might do alright for you; you can put it on Archives to encourage more runs when you don't care about money, or you can put it on a different central to force the runner into hitting a Susanoo-No-Mikoto or Excalibur to buy yourself some time.

This is totally not where my mind went with Haarpsichord. It's a great idea. Even better is that you use Reuse. That card is made for this ID. I didn't think about it since it came out. Even in my builds that have a completely different goal from this deck, that card should pull weight.
