YJ2 - Timeless Fashion

This deck is based on the Yellow Jackets Archetype that rocked the San Antonio Regionals around Mid 2014. Here is the original decklist:

The deck doesn't see much play anymore, at least not around my gaming group. This might be partially or entirely due to the fact that NEH is just everywhere these days and many might argue that NEH does the job faster than Making News. That may or may not be true, but I find that Yellow Jackets is still very powerful. It can win games fast when it needs to and its glacier capabilities can even carry you through mid to late game taxing the runner with its powerful servers and expensive-to-trash upgrades.

Here is my personal spin on yellow jackets with a few changes to the formula. Triple Blue Level Clearance and Double Ash are unchanged and they remain the most valuable cards in this deck. You need those extra card draws from Blue Level and Ash becomes a beast to deal with once you have your scoring remote established.

Troll is a new addition that combined with Making News Traces becomes very click extensive to run. They do amazing work on your central servers.

The original Yellow Jackets includes a Shinobi, a nasty surprise that is supposed to kill unaware runners. Sadly I never accomplished that task, maybe because runners these days are simply more careful or have better tools to deal with deadly sentries. I have replaced Shinobi with Ichi which can surprise unaware runners in a similar fashion, but also remains taxing and harmonizes well with Troll.

The ice distribution may seem odd with so many singleton pieces. The original Yellow Jacket deck didn't seem to require much ice consistency and I feel like neither does this version.

Fast Track and Targeted Marketing are really just nice little additions which are not essential, but nice to have anyway. I admit it takes time to learn how to use Targeted Marketing and its benefits are not always visible as the runner just stops playing the card you name. Which of course is its only purpose.

Occasionally you will run out of credits and have to click for money, which isn't fun, but sometimes a necessary evil. Also don't expect to ride the Astroscript Fast Advance Train to victory with every game. This isn't NEH and you have no biotic labor. On the other hand you usually end up with a powerful remote server around mid game where you can score out pretty much anything. Even NAPDs will do.

All the credit for the original design of Yellow Jackets goes to itsbigfoot. I hope you enjoy this deck and create your own spin on the Yellow Jackets archetype. Let me know what you think!
