How about that 6 Nisei in the deck

6 Mar 2015 x3r0h0ur

What is the significance of the name?

Please don't tell me you meant Feint, like the card that is in netrunner :P

I really like the look of this deck. Although I've not played False Lead much. How do you plan to use it?

6 Mar 2015 SlySquid

@CodeMarvelous YA you caught that =)

@x3r0h0ur that's what I meant, I'm half retarded though lol thanks for catching it...

@Mykoo44 False Lead is crazy powerful, I love it, it's also going to make people have to respect my remotes because I could switch to the brewery and get the kill after they hit a Psychic Field... It will make them run less often...

It also pairs well with the FA tactic like if they derdle to much with their first few clicks I can pop it to score a better agenda...

It adds flexability and that's the name of the game with what I like to build...

@SlySquid what do you mean by saying you could switch to the brewery at any time? I had the understanding that you couldn't switch abillities mid game. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you meant though.

@TechnoZ I think he means there's the possibility he could do it. The runner can't know which ID he picked since his playstyle is going to be the same regardless, so they'll have to respect the chance that it's any of the 3 IDs. In that way, as far as the runner is concerned, he could at any point flip it into any of the 3 IDs.

It's like Schrödinger's ID: It's all 3 options until you check.

@SlySquid I've been meaning to ask you and this seems as good a place as any: you were super excited when Harmony Medtech: Biomedical Pioneer was about to come out. Did your experiments with it get anywhere? I tried to build that 6 5/3 deck with traps and that didn't work so well, and neither did a 9 3 pointer deck (RnD was too loose). Was it an issue of the ID not being as good as you'd hoped, or was it that RP got a lot stronger and so there was really no need for Harmony?

Have you thought about using Kitsune in this type of deck? force them to respect runs on centrals with it or you smack them with a Snare! and a false lead forfeit to win next turn?

Also, how often do you feel you will actually pick the brewery vs greenhouse (if i'm getting the card backs correct)?

6 Mar 2015 SlySquid

@TechnoZ, @linuxmaier said it best...

@linuxmaier ya, that was just it... My RP deck just got so many good fucking cards! And was a beast for a long wile =)

@Tundinator@gmail.com tbh I thought I did lol that's why it is 48 cards... I'm half retarded

@SlySquid ok, looks like a fun deck then. I might have to try this when the datapack comes out, but I'm not sure I could pull off the correct ID choice when it comes down to it.

6 Mar 2015 linuxmaier

@Tundinator@gmail.com, @SlySquid: Yeah, I was wondering about the method for picking. If your deck has to be built to make any of the three work, do you just pick randomly? My concern is that by building your deck to capitalize on any of the IDs, you're doing more to weaken it than make a flexible deck.

Where it would be flexible is if you're making meta-calls or more likely player-calls with your ID choice. Meta-calls are going to be fairly predictable (figure the damage against aggressive runners, the archices option against Noise and the advancement option otherwise) and predictability sucks. I think this ID is basically made for players who like their local scene and love playing in that meta. Know a guy who's laser-focused on centrals? Pick the advancement ID. Another gal loves aggressively running remotes? Go for the kill.

I'd be interested to see how well this deck plays against unknown players, since I feel its strengths are lent to situations where you can make judgement calls about what you think an individual is going to do/expect.

Are you finding cutlery to be a big enough problem to run 3x architect and 3x rainbow? Would have thought lotus field would probably cover the bases better than rainbow here, especially against criminal.

Looks fun though as a concept!

6 Mar 2015 Tundinator@gmail.com

@Chimpster I'd think that the rainbow is there for cheap to rez influence free tax. The other pieces of ice (and the missing Kitsune) are hard/scary locks for 'go get your breaker', so lotus field wouldn't do much more than the rainbow in this type of deck (imo), and costing 2 more to rez harms your trap availability when they do get through.

Interesting deck! I'm not sure your agendas are working for you: Genetic Resequencing can only target Nisei MK II; there's not a whole lot of ice to make the runner blow big runs on Nisei MK II tokens, either. Would House of Knives and NAPD Contract be better?

Also, I'm going to say there's not enough ice for Caprice Nisei--Hokusai Grid is a better tax on the runner, esp. with False Leads. Inazuma seems like it might be in the same boat as Caprice.

As always, interesting ideas. You always take things off the beaten path--a Cambridge-style game, where it might not really be trying to kill you is just the kind of headgame that makes my friends quit playing Netrunner with me.

7 Mar 2015 SlySquid

@hatman as always you bring a great view, positivity and outlook to my decks...

You are right on all accounts, but I can say that the choices I made are because they fit MY playstyle...

And I played three games today, won them all and prevented 2x account Syphons and 2x Indexing's which is exactly why I went the route I did...

In my path of figuring out this deck and build I realized that all the cards have to be great on there own and play into a lot of different plays, I think that the choices I've made lend themselves to a lot of differant plays, or at least plays I want to make lol

Thanks for your input man, but I think I need to get a few more games under my belt befor I change it... "If it ain't broke" as they say...

7 Mar 2015 SlySquid

@hatman originally the Medical Breakthroughs were Braintrusts to combo more with Genetic Resequencing but I really feel that the build needs to be flexable...

I can go taxing super server, taxing centrals/shell game, never advance, flatline and agressive flatline (brewery), this deck is built to adapt and counter, all things a Squid loves...

I respect trying to do something with this new ID but IMO it is impossible to leverage its abilities with the current card pool. How does one win with this deck? This appears to function as a severely gimped PE, and that deck is already a coin toss (quite literally, check SHL2 stats) against skilled opponents. This feels like a coin toss where your side is underweight.

7 Mar 2015 SlySquid

@moistloaf I don't know what to say other than, some people don't care about winning every game, it's more about trying something new or making that janky idea in your head finaly work, I fall into that category... Don't get me wrong I love to win but If I'm not playing what I like tematicly than I don't see a point to playing at all...

I know I can leverage a fair amount of games with this deck but the most important thing for me is having fun with this game...

As to how it wins, first it requires the willingness to except loss...

After rereading this it came of as cold but it's not my intention, all your points are valid and ones I took I to consideration, and I think this deck takes eliments from PE but it's its own very differant thing...

My end point is I don't let the meta control what I play, I try and do the best with the themes I like

7 Mar 2015 hatman

@SlySquid Yeah, I definitely get where you're coming from wrt playstyle. Runner decks have become complete cyphers to me without something to explain how to play, for instance. This deck looks a lot like your Nisei Division deck, so I can see it going down that way. I'd be interested to see this in a video or two, so I could gauge how to run it better.

@moistloaf Have you never tried to make a deck for the Hell of it? Because that's the only way these new archetypes are made.
