Lunar Takeover

Lunar Takeover

This came to be after joking around with my friend about trying to use Government Takeover. In addition I didn't want to make a standard Weyland meat-damage deck.

The idea of this is to ICE up HQ & the other centrals pretty hard, while using Mushin No Shin & Off the Grid to score agendas.

Using Blue Sun to combo with the advanceable ICE such as Nebula for a minor econ gain, as well as pulling back Off the Grid after it's been used.

I'm sure you've noticed Research Station. It's generally considered pretty terrible, however if you ICE up HQ enough it's probably the safest place for your cards. That being said, I'm not sure it should really make the cut.

The handsize is also there for the 'dream turn':

  1. Mushin No Shin the Government Takeover & play Off the Grid.
  2. Play three Trick of Lights.
  3. Still not win because you're only at 6 points.

Crisium Grid is solely there to put on Archives to stop Sneak Door Beta. I'd like to find room for additional copies.

This is completely untested, so it's probably too janky to work. But there it is.

I've actually been playing a Mushin off the grid deck out of Blue Sun for a bit now with a good bit of success, and was just thinking I should share it as I haven't really seen anything similar posted.

You clearly need some Hostile takeovers in there to help you with that #3, haha

If I understand the rules correctly, having Crisium Grid on HQ will prevent a successful Sneakdoor Beta run from removing Off the Grid, but they can trash it on the first access. So then they'll need to Sneakdoor again, followed by a run on the isolated server. That's 3 clicks. The only way they can surprise you with that, though, is if they play Sneakdoor as their first click, then run 3 times.

If you have some ice on Archives, you may be able to prevent that possibility. However, some runners may see this play coming, in which case the only way to prevent it is to make sure Archives is sufficiently protected before attempting the Mushin No Shin + Off the Grid combo.

@EnderA Yeah, you're right, it would take the whole turn but they could still get by the Crisium Grid and score the agenda with a first click Sneakdoor Beta install. That's why I'm a big fan of throwing Excalibur down on archives and leaving it unrezzed unless they drop Sneakdoor. That right there saves you unless they've got an AI breaker.

Oh, and I did finally type up a description for my own Mushin-Off the Grid list. You can check it out here: netrunnerdb.com
