This is probably the tightest iteration of my long-running NBN deck. It used to be a Making News deck!

I win most of my games I play with this corp these days (it was just undefeated in a tournament where I placed 8th of 46!). Two-thirds of the time are agenda wins, one third flatline wins. I only actually rez and use SanSan for about a third of the agenda wins (it's not strictly necessary with Psychographics and I often can't afford it!)

Philosophically, I like to make sure every run, especially on remotes, cost the runner more (time and money) than they cost me. I love Bernice Mai in this deck. Sometimes I put Jackson with her, sometimes she just sits by herself!

I never score TGTBT or NAPD contract; I only score Market Research via Psychographics after Midseasons (this has won me games many times and is actually more reliable/affordable to execute than PsychoBeale)!

Breaking News is the true MVP of this deck. At worst it's good Midseasons bait; often it's that last point out of hand, and at times I can flatline with it.

It's all a bit finicky, and when you draw badly it's terrifying (I mean, that's Netrunner) but there are ways of piloting it for almost every situation!

I only recently added the Mental Health Clinic, hoping it would be good for Sweeps Week but by itself not prohibitive to double scorching, but I haven't had much use out of it yet.

q. But you aren't using all your influence! a. I know. There's nothing I need it for who cares

q.Have you tried [x] piece of ice you don't have a lot of ice etc etc a. If it exists and you have thought of it I have tried it in this deck and I can't afford it

q.What about biotic labor? a.stop bringing shame to NBN you don't need it

Those two influence points scream Snare! to me. Can you hear them?

Snaaaare! snaaaare! snaaaaa...

I've tried them! Just this weekend, in fact, I died on one in someone else's NEH deck. But I took them out of here -- don't do well with spend I can't predict the timing of (too often it'd turn up when I didn't have four credits spare. four is big to this deck in a way that three is not) and I have some very efficient and calculated ways to tag and bag if I have to.

Definitely Snare!

@leigh Thanks for the answer. Snare is indeed hard on a corp economy.

Another card I considered when seeing your decklist is Daily Business Show. I feel like it could help finding the combo pieces in the right order. Have you thought about it?

All in all, your deck seems good, but quite difficult to play. I'd be quite disoriented if I were to run against that!

I have tried it, too. That's almost too much draw -- as I can't REALLY protect my centrals for significant periods of time, it presents the risk of pulling more agendas into my hand than I can safely deal with, especially if Jackson Howard isn't on the table yet.

(and if he is, I just use him to draw, and I feel a stronger sense of precision and control).

Yeah, I guess this deck is a bit hard to play, but I've learned my way around it well, and that it's disorienting is its main advantage. The other day I installed a TGTBT on a Bernice Mai -- next turn, I installed a Breaking News naked next to it, and then I advanced each one twice.

As I know NEH decks never single-advance I thought this would be funny and confusing. If the runner ran on either one, I'd be okay as I had Midseasons in hand. But it was such a weird behavior on my part that he didn't run either of them, letting me finish Breaking News and double scorch on the next turn.

As NEH is so powerful in the meta I feel sort of happy playing a janky, somewhat unconventional one well.

er, advanced each one once re the above, you knew what i meant prolly

I sure did! Those are the best moments when playing Netrunner ;)

(by the way, welcome to NRDB.)

Thank you! I used to use Meteor but it's been acting weird lately and this seems more fun~!

wait why not just go back to Making News then? Considering all the trace ice and operations?

15 Dec 2014 bourgman

Yeah, I'd think Making News would work better for all the tracing, especially since you just mentioned that you are vulnerable to drawing too many agendas and you're only using 15 infl.

@Sojourne @bourgman yeah, you would think. I switched to NEH just to see what it would do -- and without changing anything else I immediately began winning more often. I think something about the fact I effectively have to install assets every turn makes the runner slightly less likely to run every remote, which makes it a bit easier to get the first Astro out.

More importantly, getting through my deck a bit faster means my economy comes up faster (I had too much draw with too little control of my draw using Daily Business, but this + occasional Jackson draws is just fine).

At the same time, all those little traces on ice & things are taxing even if I don't make them stick (though I do sometimes, depending on the case), as is scrubbing the little tags from Bernice, TGTBT, Data Raven, etc. So by the time I have to really nail the one trace that really matters (Midseasons) I find, believe it or not, that with NEH I can often apply the number of tags I'd like while spending FEWER credits than I used to with MN.

tl;dr I get more money faster with NEH, in cases where 2 credits would have a meaningful impact on a trace outcome (turns out not often) I can spend them, NEH face has more useful impact on runner expectations/behavior for me

Hi, was at the tournament (finished 11th) and it was a great time. First tourney I have played in and the first thing I've decided is to knock up a nice NBN deck as too many of my games went to time: so fast corp decks definitely feel like the way to go. The scary thing about team yellow is how competitive they are before even before the deluxe expansion for them comes out.

I think you @leigh are spot on with regards the primary benefit of NEH is that the relative tax to the runner of hitting one of your remotes is invariably higher than the cost to the corp of setting it up. As a runner i find it wears me down dealing with remotes that actually benefit the corp to set up (i actually run scrubber and the mighty bankjob ((MVP for me)) for this exact reason).

Fun 2 Inf cards that might interest you: Adonis Campaign, Architect (I'm guessing you've thought of it), Enhanced Login Protocol (too mean?), Hostile Infrastructure (too expensive?), Blue Level Clearance, Hokusai Grid, Paywall Implementation (Makes runs more for you), Power Shutdown. Yagura.

Paywalls seem on theme for NBN and your deck?

17 Dec 2014 unitled

@JAK Oh man... Paywall Implementation in asset NBN is possibly the most evil thing I have heard in ages! I'm so very tempted to give that a go.

@leigh I'd forgotten Mental Health Clinic was a thing, I should consider that again in my NEH. I think it's going to be brutal in Industrial Genomics: Growing Solutions, like a better PAD Campaign.
